Inbound means buses going toward Downtown. Outbound means buses going toward Ocean Beach.

This route was known as 5L-Fulton Limited. 5R makes limited stops between 6th Ave and Market Street and serve local stops west of 8th Ave and along Market Street. 5R only operates during weekday daytime until 7:00pm. When 5R is running, 5-Fulton buses operate local service between 8th Ave and Downtown. When 5R is not running, 5 runs local service between Ocean Beach and downtown.
