Bus fares

Sound Transit has three fares zones based on the counties the system serves. Trips that start or ends at a zone line pay the one zone fare.

One county fare multi-county fare
Adult $2.75 $3.75
Youth (age 6- 18) $1.50 $2.75
Senior/disabled
(with Regional Reduced Fare Permit)
$1.00 $1.75

Paper transfers from King County Metro are not accepted on Sound Transit routes. ORCA cards are accepted.

Link light rail fares

Fares on Central Link range from $2.25 to $3.00 each way depending on distance traveled. Before boarding the trains, buy your train ticket from a ticket machine or use an ORCA card. Central Link uses the proof of payment system and passengers caught without a valid ticket or pass are subject to eviction and/or citation. OCRA card riders need to tap on at a yellow card reader before boarding and tap off after exiting so that proper fare is charged.

Tacoma Link is free.

Sounder fares

Fares on Sounder range from $3.75 to $5.75 each way depending on distance traveled. Before boarding the trains, buy your train ticket from a ticket machine or use an ORCA card. Sounder uses the proof of payment system and passengers caught without a valid ticket or pass are subject to eviction and/or citation. OCRA card riders need to tap on at a yellow card reader before boarding and tap off after exiting so that proper fare is charged.

PugetPass

A regional monthly pass is available to ORCA card holders. The pass is sold at prices range from $18 to $189 for fare values range from $0.50 to $5.25. It is accepted for regular service for various transit providers in the region. If the actual fare exceeds the fare value on the pass, a fare upgrade is required.
