AC Transit Service Changes Effective Sunday, December 17, 2017
Highlights of changes:
With the end of construction on E. 10th St. and 23rd Ave., Lines 20, 21, and 62 will return to previous routing.
The loop in Foster City on Line M will serve commuters crossing the San Mateo Bridge, rather than commuters from San Mateo.
Line Z will end in both directions at the same point, on San Pablo Ave. at Marin Ave. in Albany.
Line(s) Description of changes 1 In Downtown Oakland, the end of the line moved from Lafayette Park to 11th St. west of Clay St., alongside Galeto Brazilian Steakhouse. (This change is expected to occur in early January.)
12 In Northwest Berkeley, the end of the line moved to 5th St. and Harrison St.
18 In order to improve on-time performance, on weekdays, buses will come slightly less often, every 16 minutes instead of every 15 minutes. Other minor schedule changes.
19 Schedule irregularities eliminated, so that buses will be consistently scheduled to operate every half hour on weekdays between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Other minor schedule changes.
20 & 21 Buses will travel between Fruitvale BART and Park St. & Buena Vista Ave. via E. 12th St., 23rd Ave., and Park St. Lines 19 and 51A will continue to serve Bridgeside Shopping Center (Broadway & Blanding Ave.) and Fruitvale Ave. betwen Alameda and Fruitvale BART.
33 Toward Montclair, buses will come slightly less often in the mornings and late evenings on weekdays, with two fewer trips overall. Other minor schedule changes.
51A & 851 The stop on Broadway at 26th St. heading toward Rockridge BART will no longer be in service. Board on Broadway at Grand Ave. or at 28th St.
62 Buses will travel between Lake Merritt BART and 5th Ave. via 10th St. Line 96 will continue to serve E. 8th St.
314 Line 314 will no longer stop on 11th St. at Jefferson St. Board on 11th St. at Brush St. or at Clay St.
600–699 Schedules on AC Transit’s Service to Schools have been updated with the dates that minimum-day and other special schedules will apply. Some trips on minimum-day or special schedules have been discontinued on lines 623, 624, 631, 663, 680 and 682.
663 Line 663 will begin and end its trips at Encinal High School. It will no longer serve Main St. or Ralph Appezzato Memorial Parkway.
800 The stop on Clay St. at 11th St. will no longer be in service. Use stops on 7th St. at Jefferson St. or 14th St. at Clay St.
F Line F will no longer stop on Fulton St. at Kittredge St. in Berkeley. Board on Bancroft Way Ave. at Ellsworth St. or on Shattuck Ave. at Kittredge St.
J One trip added in the afternoon. Other minor schedule changes.
L One trip discontinued in the afternoon. Other minor schedule changes.
M Stops along the Chess Dr., Vintage Park Dr., and Metro Center Dr. loop will be served only on trips toward Hillsdale Shopping Center in the morning, and on trips toward Hayward BART in the evening. Other service in this area includes Samtrans lines 251 and 256, and the Lincoln Centre, Mariners’ Island, and North Foster City shuttles.
Z Morning service to Buchanan St. is discontinued; the last stop will be San Pablo Ave. & Marin Ave. Line 80 will continue to serve Buchanan St.; connection is available on 6th St. and Gilman St. Also, at Christie Park in Emeryville, Line Z toward Albany will stop at the stop with Line 36, just north of its current stop, which is shared with Line J.
Other Other minor schedule changes are made to lines 10, 72R, 75, 80, 81, 85, 89, 96, 97, 200, 212, 239, 623, 649, 667 and G.
“Minor schedule changes” are those that move the times of bus trips earlier or later by a few minutes.
