Service Changes

Service Improvements Begin September 16!

Big Blue Bus will adjust its service on September 16, 2018, to better connect you with places you work, live, and play. Preview the changes below and let us know if you have any feedback. Also, be sure to sign up for email updates to be notified of future service changes.

Route 1 Main St & Santa Monica Blvd

Discontinued Stop:

• NB Westwood Blvd. at Lindbrook Dr.

Route 2 Wilshire Blvd

Minor Route and Schedule Changes:

• Due to Metro Rail Construction, current detour on Veteran Ave. and Kinross Ave. becomes permanent route on weeknights and weekends.
• Minor schedule adjustments on weekends to help keep buses on time.

New Stops!

• NB Veteran Ave. at Kinross Ave.
• NB Westwood Blvd. at Kinross Ave.
• SB Westwood Blvd. at Kinross Ave.
• EB Wilshire Blvd. at Bundy Dr. (across the intersection)
• WB Wilshire Blvd. at Veteran Ave. (across the intersection)
• WB Wilshire Blvd. at Bundy Dr. (across the intersection)

Rapid 3 Lincoln Blvd Rapid

Schedule Changes:

• Weekday:
  • Service adjusted to every 10 minutes between 7am and 8am.
  • Significant schedule adjustments to help keep buses on time.

Route 5 Olympic Blvd

Schedule Changes:

• Weekday:
  • Eastbound trips at 5:55am, 8:20pm, and 8:50pm discontinued.
  • Westbound trips at 5:52am, 6:17am, 7:55pm, 8:25pm, and 8:55pm discontinued.
• Weekend:
  • Eastbound trips at 6:00am, 6:40am, 7:20am, 8:00pm, and 8:40pm discontinued.
  • Westbound trips at 6:33am, 7:13am, 7:53am, 8:38pm, and 9:18pm discontinued.

Route 7 Pico Blvd

Schedule Changes:

• New eastbound weekday trip added at 3:15pm.

Route 8 Ocean Park Blvd

Schedule Changes:

• Weekday:
  • Eastbound morning service improved to better match rider demand.
  • Minor schedule adjustments to help keep buses on time.

Discontinued Stop:

• NB Westwood Blvd. at Lindbrook Dr.

Route 9 Pacific Palisades

Schedule Changes:

• Weekday:
  • Eastbound morning service improved to better match rider demand.
  • Minor schedule adjustments to help keep buses on time.

Discontinued Stop:

• NB Westwood Blvd. at Lindbrook Dr.

Rapid 10 Downtown LA Freeway Express

Schedule Changes:

• Eastbound:
  • Various trips discontinued; service now ends at 6:20pm.
  • Service adjusted to every 30 minutes between 2pm and 4:45pm.

• Westbound:
  • Various trips discontinued; service now ends at 8:15pm.
  • Service adjusted to every 40-50 minutes between 6:35am and 10:35am.

Rapid 12 UCLA/Westwood to Expo Rapid

Schedule Changes:

• Weekday service improved to better match rider demand.
• Weekend trips between noon and 6pm adjusted to every 22 minutes.
• Minor schedule adjustments on all days to help keep buses on time.

Route 14 Bundy Dr & Centinela Ave

Schedule Changes:

• Sunday:
  • Northbound trips at 7:55pm and 8:20pm discontinued.
  • Southbound trips at 7:13pm and 7:38pm discontinued.

Route 15 Barrington Ave

Schedule Changes:

• Weekday:
  • Service adjusted to every 26-30 minutes all day.
  • Minor schedule adjustments to help keep buses on time.
• Saturday:
  • Northbound trips at 7:20am and 8am discontinued; service now operates until approximately 5:20pm.
  • Southbound trips at 7:38am and 8:18am discontinued; service now operates until approximately 5:40pm.
• Sunday:
  • Northbound trip at 6:20pm discontinued.
  • Southbound trip at 6:40pm discontinued.

Route 16 Wilshire Blvd/Bundy Dr - Marina Del Rey

Schedule Changes:

• Weekday:
  • Northbound trip at 5:30am discontinued.
  • Southbound trip at 5:27am discontinued.

• EB Wilshire Blvd. at Bundy Dr. (across the intersection)
• WB Wilshire Blvd. at Bundy Dr. (across the intersection)

Route 17 UCLA-VA Medical Center-Palms

Minor Route and Schedule Changes:

• Due to Metro Rail Construction, current detour on Veteran Ave. and Kinross Ave. becomes permanent route on weeknights.
• Weekday:
  • Northbound trips at 8:40pm and 9:10pm discontinued.
  • Southbound trips at 5:39am and 6:04am discontinued.
• Weekend:
  • Northbound trip at 8:05pm discontinued.
  • Southbound trip at 8pm discontinued.

Minor Route and Schedule Changes:

• Due to Metro Rail Construction, current detour on Veteran Ave. and Kinross Ave. becomes permanent route on weeknights and Saturdays.

• Eastbound Saturday trip at 5:51am discontinued.

New Stops!

• NB 4^th St. at Pico Blvd.
• NB Veteran Ave. at Kinross Ave.

Route 41 SMC - 17th St Station - Montana Ave (Clockwise)

Route and Schedule Changes:

• New weekday service to Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center during Fall and Spring semesters only.
• Weekday trip at 6am discontinued; minor schedule adjustments to help keep buses on time.
• Weekend service now operates between 8:12am and 6:30pm.

New Stops!

• WB Santa Monica Blvd. at 11^th St.

Route 42 SMC - 17th St Station - Montana Ave (Counterclockwise)

Route and Schedule Changes:

• New weekday service to Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center during Fall and Spring semesters only.
• Weekday service now operates until 7:55pm; minor schedule adjustments to help keep buses on time.
• Weekend service now operates between 8am and 6:45pm.

• EB Colorado Ave. at 17^th St.

Route 43 San Vicente Blvd & 26th St

Schedule Changes:

• Weekday:
  • Southbound: New trip added at 10:10am; trip at 6:50pm discontinued.
  • Northbound: New trip added at 10:13am; trip at 6:55pm discontinued.
  • Minor schedule adjustments to help keep buses on time.

Route 44 SMC Campus Connector

Schedule Change:

• Trips do not operate when classes at Santa Monica College are not in session.
• Service adjusted to every 14 minutes all day.
• Southbound trip at 6:37am discontinued.
• Northbound trip at 6:42am discontinued.
• Minor schedule adjustments to help keep buses on time.
