King County Metro 9-19-2020

Bus changes are coming Sept. 19, 2020 as part of our twice-yearly service change. We’re dedicated to keeping you moving and have upgraded our health and safety practices across our entire system. Due to budget constraints, Metro will operate reduced service in certain areas. We’re committed to prioritizing our customers who rely on transit most and will debut key improvements for south King County. Please visit our Quick Start Guide for new ways to travel within these expanded transit zones in Renton, Kent, and Auburn.

Choose a route number to learn about the changes that will begin on September 19, 2020. Some routes with small changes to trip times are not included on this page.

Night Owl Service

Night Owl Service (midnight - 5AM) is reduced or suspended on many routes due to the loss of funding from the Seattle Transportation Benefit District. Please check the timetable for your route for complete information.

Expanded Service in south King County revised

Riders will see the Renton Kent Auburn Area Mobility Project (RKAAMP) go into effect. These changes are designed to expand transit service and improve connections to important destinations. This involves the addition of five routes, the deletion of 13 routes, and revisions to 12 routes, for a total investment of 18,700 annual service hours. Route improvements include:

  • New Sunday service between Lea Hill/Green River College and Kent Station on new Route 165, between Algona, Pacific, and Auburn on DART Route 917, and between Fairwood, the Renton Industrial Valley, and Tukwila on DART Route 906.
  • Later evening service on the Kent East Hill and Kent West Hill on Route 165 and Route 168.
  • New frequent service between Renton, Kent, and Auburn on new Route 160.

Route 1 reduced

Route 1 service is reduced on weekday evenings and on Saturdays due to the loss of funding from the Seattle Transportation Benefit District.

Route 2 reduced

Route 2 service is reduced on weekday evenings, and Saturdays due to the loss of funding from the Seattle Transportation Benefit District.

Route 3 reduced

Route 3 service is reduced on weekday peak periods, evenings, night owl, and Saturdays due to the loss of funding from the Seattle Transportation Benefit District.

Route 4 reduced

Route 4 service is reduced on weekday peak periods, evenings and night owl, and Saturdays due to the loss of funding from the Seattle Transportation Benefit District.

Route 5 reduced

Route 5 service is reduced on weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays due to the loss of funding from the Seattle Transportation Benefit District.

Route 5E suspended

Route 5E service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 7 reduced

Route 7 service is reduced on weekday early mornings, weekday nights, Sunday mornings, and weekend nights due to the loss of funding from the Seattle Transportation Benefit District.

Route 8 reduced

Route 8 service is reduced on weekday peak periods due to the loss of funding from the Seattle Transportation Benefit District.

Route 9E suspended

Route 9E service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 10 reduced

Route 10 service is reduced on weekday midday and evenings and weekend nights due to the loss of funding from the Seattle Transportation Benefit District.

Route 11 reduced

Route 11 service is reduced on weekday peak periods, midday, evening, and night owl, Saturdays, and Sunday night owl due to the loss of funding from the Seattle Transportation Benefit District.

Route 12 reduced

Route 12 service is reduced on weekday peak periods, nights and Saturdays due to the loss of funding from the Seattle Transportation Benefit District.

Route 13 reduced

Route 14 reduced

Route 14 service is reduced on weekday evenings, and Saturdays due to the loss of funding from the Seattle Transportation Benefit District.

Route 15E suspended

Route 15E service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 17E suspended

Route 18E suspended

Route 21 & 21E reduced

Due to structural issues, the West Seattle bridge is closed, and routes 21 and 21E will be on a long-term re-route using the Spokane Street bridge. Route 21 service is reduced on weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays due to the loss of funding from the Seattle Transportation Benefit District.

Route 22 suspended

Route 22 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 24 reduced

Route 24 will operate to/from W Emerson St & Magnolia Blvd W during weekday peak periods. Service is reduced on weekday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.

Route 26E reduced

Route 26E service going south to Downtown Seattle is reduced on weekday mornings due to the loss of funding from the Seattle Transportation Benefit District.

Route 27 reduced

Route 27 service is reduced on weekday nights, Saturday nights, and Sundays due to the loss of funding from the Seattle Transportation Benefit District.

Route 28E reduced

Route 28E service is reduced on weekday nights and Saturday nights due to the loss of funding from the Seattle Transportation Benefit District.

Route 29 suspended

Route 29 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 31 reduced

Route 31 service is reduced on weekdays, and suspended on Saturdays.

Route 32 reduced

Route 32 service is reduced on weekdays.

Route 33 reduced

Route 50 reduced

Routes 55, 56, 57 reduced

Due to structural issues, the West Seattle bridge is closed, and routes 55, 56 and 57 will be on a long-term re-route using the Spokane Street bridge. Routes 55, 56 and 57 are reduced on weekdays during the peak periods due to the loss of funding from the Seattle Transportation Benefit District.

Route 60 reduced

Route 60 service is reduced on Saturday early mornings and nights, and Sunday early mornings and nights.

Route 62 reduced

Route 62 service is reduced in the evening and at night due to the loss of funding from the Seattle Transportation Benefit District.

Route 63 suspended

Route 63 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 64 revised

Route 64 will operate one fewer morning trip, and existing morning and afternoon trips are adjusted to better maintain span and consistent frequency of service.

Route 65 & 67 reduced

Service on routes 65 and 67 is reduced on weekdays, Saturdays, and Sundays due to the loss of funding from the Seattle Transportation Benefit District.

Route 70 reduced

Route 70 service is reduced on weekday peak periods, midday, evenings, night owl, and weekend evenings and nights due to the loss of funding from the Seattle Transportation Benefit District.

Route 71 suspended

Route 71 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 73 reduced

Route 73 service is reduced on weekday evenings and Saturdays due to the loss of funding from the Seattle Transportation Benefit District.

Route 74 reduced

Route 74 mid-day shuttle between University District and Sand Point will not operate due to the loss of funding from the Seattle Transportation Benefit District.

Route 75 reduced

Route 75 service is reduced on weekdays and Saturdays due to the loss of funding from the Seattle Transportation Benefit District.

Route 76 suspended

Route 76 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 77 suspended

Route 105 revised

Route 105 will provide more frequent service during the peak periods on weekdays.

Route 106 reduced

Route 106 service is reduced on weekday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.

Route 113 suspended

Route 113 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 114 suspended

Route 114 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 116 suspended

Route 116 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Routes 118E & 119E revised

Routes 118E and 119E will only serve stops on Vashon Island. For service to/from downtown Seattle, board the Fauntleroy/Vashon ferry and transfer to/from RapidRide C Line at the Fauntleroy ferry terminal.

Route 120 reduced

Due to structural issues, the West Seattle bridge is closed, and Route 120 will be on a long-term re-route using the Spokane Street bridge. Route 120 service is reduced on weekday middays and nights due to the loss of funding from the Seattle Transportation Benefit District.

Route 121 suspended

Route 121 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 122 suspended

Route 122 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 123 suspended

Route 123 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 124 reduced

Route 124 service is reduced on Saturdays.

Route 125 reduced

Route 125 will be revised to operate in both directions on 3rd Ave in downtown Seattle, between Stewart and Columbia streets. Route 125 service is reduced on Saturdays and will no longer operate on Sundays due to the loss of funding from the Seattle Transportation Benefit District. Due to structural issues, the West Seattle bridge is closed, and Route 125 will be on a long-term re-route using the Spokane Street bridge.

Route 143 suspended

Route 143 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue. When Route 143 returns to service, it will use a new pathway via 6th Ave when travelling to downtown Seattle, and will no longer serve the stop at Seneca St & 5th Ave, or operate on Seneca St and 4th Ave. Route 143 will serve the stop at 6th Ave & Union St, stop #997.

Route 148 revised

Route 148 will no longer operate on Lake Youngs Way SE, 123rd Ave SE and 126th Ave SE. From Royal Hills Drive S, the route will serve 116th Ave SE, SE 168th St, and 128th Ave SE before continuing its normal routing.

Route 150 revised

Route 150 will use a new pathway to serve the former Route 180 segment on 64th Ave S between S 228th St and W James St. Route 150 will no longer serve 68th Ave S between S 228th St and W James St.

Route 154 suspended

Route 154 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 157 suspended

Route 157 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue. When Route 157 returns to service, it will no longer operate on SE Kent-Kangley Rd. In both directions the route will operate to/from Lake Meridian Park and Ride via 132nd Ave SE and SE 256th St. Alternative service on SE Kent-Kangley Rd will be provided on the new Route 162. Route 157 will use a new pathway via 6th Ave when travelling to downtown Seattle, and will no longer serve the stop at Seneca St & 5th Ave, or operate on Seneca St and 4th Ave. Route 157 will serve the stop at 6th Ave & Union St, stop #997.

Route 158 deleted

Route 158 will be deleted. Alternative service will be available using new routes 162 and 165. Route 158 riders west of Lake Meridian Park & Ride will take new Route 162. Route 158 riders along 132nd Ave SE and SE 240th St will take new Route 165 and transfer to/from Route 162 or Sounder at Kent Station.

Route 159 deleted

Route 159 will be deleted. Alternative service will be available using new route 162 and 168. Route 159 riders west of Lake Meridian Park & Ride will take new Route 162. Route 159 riders along SE 272nd St, 192nd Ave SE, Timberlane Way SE, SE Timberlane Blvd, and SE 262nd Pl will take revised Route 168 and transfer to/from new Route 162 or Sounder at Kent Station.

Route 160 new

New Route 160 will provide frequent service between Auburn and Renton, via Kent. Route 160 will replace Route 169 between Kent and Renton and replace Route 180 between Auburn and Kent with more frequent service.

Route 161 new

New Route 161 will provide service between Kent Station and Burien Transit Center, replacing Route 180.

Route 162 new

New Route 162 will provide peak hour service connecting Kent East Hill and downtown Seattle, via Kent West Hill.

Route 164 deleted

Route 164 will be deleted. Route 164 will be replaced by new Route 165, which will connect Green River College and Burien, via Kent and Des Moines. Route 164 riders south of SE 272nd St and along E James St and S 240th St will take new Route 165. Route 164 riders along SE Kent Kangley Rd will take revised Route 168 and can connect with new Route 165 at Kent Station or at 132nd Ave SE & SE 272nd St. Route 164 riders along 104th Ave SE will take new Route 160 and can connect with new Route 165 at Kent Station or at SE 240th St & 104th Ave SE.

Route 165 new

New Route 165 will provide service between Green River College and Burien, via Kent and Des Moines. Route 165 replaces routes 164 and 166.

Route 166 deleted

Route 166 will be deleted. Route 166 will be replaced by new Route 165, which will connect Green River College and Burien, via Kent and Des Moines. Route 166 riders between Kent Station and the intersection of Reith Rd S & Military Rd S will take revised Route 183 to connect to new Route 165. Route 166 riders along 64th Ave S and between Kent Des Moines Park and Ride and Burien Transit Center will take new Route 165.

Route 167 suspended

Route 167 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 168 revised

Route 168 will be restructured to more directly connect Maple Valley and Kent, via Covington. Route 168 will be revised to serve SE Kent Kangley Rd and Canyon Dr SE. Route 168 will no longer operate on 132nd Ave SE, SE 256th St, 104th Ave SE, or SE 240th St. Alternative service on those streets will be provided by new routes 160 and 165, and revised DART Route 914. Route 168 will have several trips that connect with the new Route 161 to provide a one-seat ride for residents of the Kent East Hill, Covington, and Maple Valley to the Kent Industrial Valley, SeaTac Airport, and Burien.

Route 169 deleted

Route 169 will be deleted. New Route 160 will serve the existing Route 169 pathway, connecting riders to Renton Transit Center, Kent Station, and Auburn Station.

Route 177 suspended

Route 177 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 178 suspended

Route 178 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 179 suspended

Route 179 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue. When Route 179 returns to service, it will use a new pathway via 6th Ave when travelling to downtown Seattle, and will no longer serve the stop at Seneca St & 5th Ave, or operate on Seneca St and 4th Ave. Route 179 will serve the stop at 6th Ave & Union St, stop #997.

Route 180 deleted

Route 180 will be deleted. Alternative service between Burien Transit Center and Kent Station, via SeaTac, will be provided by new Route 161. Route 180 riders between Kent Station and Auburn Station will be served by new Route 160. Route 180 riders between Auburn Station and South Auburn will be served by new Route 184. Route 180 riders on W James St will take routes 150 or 183 and transfer to/from new Route 161 at Kent Station. Route 180 riders on 64th Ave S between S 228th St and W James St will take revised Route 150 and transfer to/from new Route 161 at Kent Station or at the intersection of S 212th St & 64th Ave S.

Route 183 revised

Route 183 will be revised to serve 64th Ave S and W James St to improve transfers between this service and other Metro routes. Route 183 will no longer operate on W Meeker St east of 64th Ave S, N Lincoln Ave, and W Smith St.

Route 184 new

New Route 184 will replace Route 180 service between South Auburn and Auburn Station.

Route 186 deleted

Route 186 will be deleted. Alternative service will be provided by DART Route 915.

Route 190 suspended

Route 190 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue. When Route 190 returns to service, it will be revised to serve the Kent-Des Moines Park & Ride freeway stops in both directions.

Route 192 deleted

Route 192 will be deleted. Alternative service will be provided by Route 162 between Kent and downtown Seattle.

Route 197 suspended

Route 197 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 200 suspended

Route 200 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue. When Route 200 returns to service, it will be revised and will no longer serve Swedish Hospital (NE Blakely Dr.). It will now turn around at Grand Ridge Plaza (NE Ellis Dr.).

Route 204 suspended

Route 204 Saturday service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 208 suspended

Route 208 evening trips are suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 212 reduced

Route 212 is reduced to operate on weekdays every 15 minutes between 6:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., and every 15 minutes between 3:00 pm and 6:00 p.m. as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 214 suspended

Route 214 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 216 suspended

Route 216 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 217 suspended

Route 217 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 218 reduced

Route 218 service is reduced in the morning as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 219 suspended

Route 221 reduced

Route 226 is reduced to hourly service on Saturdays as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 232 suspended

Route 237 suspended

Route 240 reduced

Route 241 reduced

Route 241 is reduced to hourly on Saturdays as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 245 reduced

Route 245 service is reduced in the peak period on weekdays as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 246 suspended

Route 246 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 249 suspended

Route 249 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue. While Route 249 is suspended, Sound Transit 550 will serve some Route 249 stops in Bellevue that are usually bypassed by Route 550.

Route 250 reduced

Route 250 is reduced to hourly service after 10:25 p.m. on weekdays as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 252 suspended

Route 252 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 255 reduced

Route 255 service is reduced in frequency on weekdays and weekends as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 268 suspended

Route 312 suspended

Route 312 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue. While Route 312 is suspended, Sound Transit 522 will serve some Route 312 stops on SR 522 that are usually bypassed by Route 522.

Route 316 suspended

Route 331 reduced

Route 331 service is reduced in the weekday morning peak period.

Route 342 suspended

Route 628 suspended

Route 628 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 630 suspended

Route 630 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Routes 823, 824, 886, 887, 888, 889 deleted

These school routes will be deleted as the Bellevue School District has decided not to renew their contract for services with King County Metro.

Route 906 revised

DART Route 906 will be revised, and will no longer operate on 128th Ave SE, SE 168th St, or 116th Ave SE. Route 906 will now continue on SE Petrovitsky St to provide more direct service. On weekdays when Sounder is running, the route will extend from its current terminal to Tukwila Sounder Station via Andover Park E, Strander Blvd, and West Valley Hwy.

Route 908 deleted

DART Route 908 will be deleted. Alternative service between Renton Highlands and Renton Transit Center will be provided by routes 105 and 240.

Route 910 deleted

DART Route 910 will be deleted. Alternative service will be provided by more frequent service on new Route 160 and revised DART 917. Between Auburn Station and North Auburn, service will be provided by new Route 160. Between Auburn Station and the Outlet Collection service will be provided by DART Route 917.

Route 913 deleted

Route 913 will be deleted. Alternative service will be provided by new routes 161 and 165. Route 913 riders between Kent Station and the intersection of Veterans Dr S & Riverview Blvd S will take new Route 165. Route 913 riders along S 212th St will take new Route 161.

Route 914 revised

DART Route 914 will be revised on Kent East Hill and will no longer serve SE 260th St, SE Kent-Kangley Rd, 116th Ave SE, and portions of 132nd Ave SE, SE 240th St and SE 248th St. Route 914 riders along SE Kent-Kangley Rd will take revised Route 168. Route 914 riders along 132nd Ave SE and SE 240th will take new Route 165.

Route 915 revised

New, peak period service on DART Route 915 will replace Route 186.

Route 916 deleted

DART Route 916 will be deleted. Alternative service will be provided by new routes 160 and 165, and revised routes 168 and DART route 914. Riders west of Kent Station will take revised DART Route 914. Riders along S 240th St will take new Route 165 or revised DART Route 914. Riders along Canyon Dr and SE 256th St will take revised Route 168 or revised DART Route 914. Riders along 104th Ave SE south of SE 256th St will take revised DART Route 914. Riders along 104th Ave SE north of SE 256th St will take new Route 160.

Route 917 revised

DART Route 917 will be revised and will no longer operate on Ellingson Road east of Pacific Ave N, or serve the associated flexible DART service area east of Pacific Ave N. DART Route 917 will revised to provide additional access to the Outlet Collection with a stop at Walmart during off-peak periods. DART Route 917 will no longer serve the stop on Aleshire Ave at GSA offices in south Auburn. A new stop pair will be added at 15th St SW & Perimeter for access to Auburn YMCA.

Route 931 suspended

DART Route 931 service is suspended as part of the temporary reduced service network due to the COVID pandemic and its associated loss of ridership and revenue.

Route 952 deleted

Route 952 will be deleted. Alternative service will be provided by Metro�s non-fixed route services, such as Vanpool.

RapidRide A Line revised

A Line service is increased on weekday midday, and throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday to support social distancing.

RapidRide C Line revised

Due to structural issues, the West Seattle bridge is closed, and the C Line will be on a long-term re-route using the Spokane Street bridge. C Line service is reduced on weekday peak periods, middays and nights due to the loss of funding from the Seattle Transportation Benefit District.

RapidRide D Line revised

D Line service is increased on weekday middays to support social distancing and reduced on Saturday.

RapidRide E Line revised

E Line service is increased on weekday middays to support social distancing, and reduced on weekday mornings, afternoons, and evenings due to the loss of funding from the Seattle Transportation Benefit District.
