Routes changed on Dec. 7

Metro Transit has made quarterly service adjustments.

A small portion of Metro Transit's service receives quarterly adjustments; which can include trip removals, trip reinstatements, or other efficiency revisions based on overall agency capacity, including driver shortages and ridership on particular trips or other factors.

Effective Saturday, Dec. 7, changes were made to routes operated by Metro Transit.

Below is an overview of the changes.

METRO Blue Line

  • Schedule times will be adjusted.

METRO Green Line

  • Schedule times will be adjusted.

METRO C Line

  • Southbound buses move to 8th St. in downtown Minneapolis.
  • Schedule times will be adjusted.


ROUTE 3

  • Westbound 3A trip leaving Union Depot at 6:33 a.m. will be reinstated.

ROUTE 4

  • Southbound trip leaving 1st Ave. & Old Hwy. 8 at 4:08 p.m. will be reinstated.

ROUTE 5

  • Southbound buses return to 8th St. in downtown Minneapolis.
  • Southbound trips leaving Brooklyn Center Transit Center at 6:02 (5B) and 7:45 a.m. (5A) will be reinstated.
  • Northbound 5M trips leaving Chicago & 56th St.at 6:28 a.m. and 3:40 p.m. will be reinstated.
  • Northbound 5L trip leaving Mall of America Transit Station at 7:44 a.m. will be reinstated.
  • Schedule times will be adjusted for all days of the week.

ROUTE 6

  • Northbound trips leaving Southdale Transit Center at 7:16 and 7:56 a.m. and 5:21 p.m. (6U) will be reinstated.
  • Southbound 6C trips leaving 1st St. & 1st Ave at 4:20 and 5:26 p.m. will be reinstated.
  • Frequency will be reduced between 8 - 9 a.m. and between 5 - 6 p.m.
  • Northbound 6U trip leaving France Ave. & Minnesota at 5:05 a.m. will no longer hold for 5 minutes at 7th St. & Nicollet and will depart 7th St. & Nicollet at 5:56 a.m.
  • Southbound 6G school trip leaving 1st St. & 1st Ave. at 7:33 a.m. will be eliminated.
  • Schedule times will be adjusted.

ROUTE 9

  • Eastbound buses return to 8th St. in downtown Minneapolis.

ROUTE 10

  • Frequency reduced during morning and afternoon rush hours.
  • Schedule times will be adjusted for southbound morning and northbound afternoon service.

ROUTE 12

  • Frequency reduced during afternoon rush hour.
  • Schedule times will be adjusted in both directions between 5 - 6:30 p.m.

ROUTE 18

  • Northbound trip leaving 104th St. & W. Bloomington Freeway Rd. at 6:15 p.m. will be reinstated.
  • Select morning rush hour trips starting from 2nd Ave. & American Blvd. will instead start from Nicollet & 66th St. Connect to Route 18 from Route 554 for alternative service.
  • Frequency will be reduced between 6:30 - 7:30 a.m. and between 5:30 - 6 p.m.
  • Schedule times will be adjusted.

ROUTE 19

  • Southbound buses return to 8th St. in downtown Minneapolis.

ROUTE 21

  • Westbound trips leaving Union Depot at 6:21 a.m. and 4:11 p.m. will be reinstated.
  • Eastbound 21A trips leaving Uptown Transit Station at 7:45 a.m. and 2:22 p.m. will be reinstated.

ROUTE 22

  • Southbound buses return to 8th St. in downtown Minneapolis.
  • Northbound 22C trip leaving VA Medical Center at 7:55 a.m. will be reinstated.
  • Southbound 22H trip leaving Humboldt & 69th Ave. at 6:05 a.m. will be reinstated.
  • Southbound trip leaving 58th St. & 28th Ave. at 4:46 a.m. will now leave at 4:41 a.m.
  • Schedule times will be adjusted.

ROUTE 39

  • Southbound buses return to 8th St. in downtown Minneapolis.

ROUTE 53

  • Eastbound trip leaving Uptown Transit Station at 6:30 a.m. will be reinstated.

ROUTE 54

  • Eastbound 54M trips leaving Mall of America at 5:40 and 6:56 a.m. will be reinstated.
  • Westbound trips leaving Maplewood Mall at 6:58 and 8:23 a.m. will be reinstated.

ROUTE 59

  • New stop at Central Ave. & 35th Ave. NE in both directions.
  • Frequency reduced in both directions.
  • Schedule times will be adjusted.

ROUTE 64

  • Westbound weekday trip via North St. Paul to downtown will be reinstated, but retimed to leave Maplewood Mall at 6:54 a.m.
  • Morning rush hour and afternoon service between 2 - 7 p.m. will have slightly less frequent service in both directions.
  • Route 64 will continue to be part of the High Frequency Network.
  • Schedule times and branches will be adjusted.

ROUTE 71

  • Northbound 71W trip leaving Lafayette Rd. E & Chester St. at 4:16 p.m. will be reinstated.
  • Southbound 71C trip leaving Sloan Pl. & Roselawn Ave. at 4:50 p.m. will be reinstated.

ROUTE 74

  • Westbound 74A trip leaving Ivy & Geneva Ave. at 6:50 a.m. will be reinstated.

ROUTE 94

  • Frequency will be reduced during morning and afternoon rush hours.
  • Schedule times will be adjusted.

ROUTE 133

  • Southbound trips leaving Gateway Ramp at 3:37 and 5:07 p.m. will be reinstated.
  • Northbound trip leaving 1000 46th St. E. at 7:01 a.m. will leave at 7:08 a.m.

ROUTE 135

  • Southbound trip leaving Gateway Ramp at 5:05 p.m. will be reinstated.

ROUTE 146

  • Southbound trip leaving 1st St. & 3rd Ave. S. at 3:39 p.m. will be reinstated.
  • Northbound trip leaving Londonderry & Lincoln Dr. at 7:40 a.m. will now leave at 7:35 a.m.
  • Southbound trip 146B leaving 1st St. & 3rd Ave. S. at 4:53 p.m. will leave at 5:01 p.m

ROUTE 156

  • Northbound trips leaving Lyndale Ave. & 56th St. at 6:41 and 7:06 a.m. will leave at 6:45 and 7:02 a.m.
  • Southbound trip leaving Gateway Ramp at 4:54 p.m. will leave at 5:02 p.m.

ROUTE 219

  • Schedule times and stop locations will be adjusted to reflect permanent detour.

ROUTE 250

  • Northbound rush-hour trip times will be adjusted.

ROUTE 263

  • Northbound trip leaving 1st Ave. & 14th St. at 5:12 p.m. will be eliminated.
  • An alternative trip is the Route 270P trip leaving 2nd Ave. S. & 11th St. at 5:30 p.m. that serves both the Rice St. & Hwy. 61 and Co. Rd. C Park & Rides.
  • Schedule times will be adjusted.

ROUTE 265

  • Northbound trip leaving Smith Ave. Ramp at 3:34 p.m. will be reinstated.

ROUTE 270

  • Eastbound 270D trip leaving 2nd Ave. & 11th St. at 4:26 p.m. will be reinstated.
  • Eastbound 270D trip leaving 2nd Ave. & 11th St. at 4:52 p.m. will be eliminated.
  • Morning and afternoon schedule times will be adjusted.

ROUTE 275

  • Service is being adjusted to better match ridership and maximize the seating capacity of coach buses.
  • Southbound trip leaving Forest Lake Transit Center at 6:02 a.m. will be eliminated.
  • There will be five trips, two of them serving Forest Lake, in each direction.
  • Schedule times will be adjusted.

ROUTE 355

  • One westbound trip and one eastbound trip will be eliminated; other trips will be retimed.
  • The final trips of the morning will start earlier to improve connections to Route 129 at Huron Station.

ROUTE 467

  • Southbound trip leaving Gateway Ramp at 4:50 p.m. will be reinstated.

ROUTE 535/597

  • Southbound 535B trip leaving 2nd St. & 3rd Ave. at 4:41 p.m. will be eliminated.
  • Route 535 frequency will be reduced from 10 to 15 minutes between 7* 8 a.m. and 4* 5 p.m.
  • Northbound 597 trip leaving St. Luke's Lutheran Park & Ride at 7:29 a.m. will be eliminated.
  • Northbound 597 trip leaving Normandale College at 7:03 a.m. will leave at 7:08 a.m.
  • Schedule times will be adjusted.

ROUTE 553

  • Northbound trip leaving Old Shakopee Rd. & 10th Ave. at 7:06 a.m. will be reinstated.

ROUTE 554

  • Northbound trip leaving 104th St. & Bloomington Freeway W. at 6:32 a.m. will be eliminated.
  • Northbound trip leaving 104th St. & Bloomington Freeway W. at 6:43 a.m. will leave at 6:37 a.m.
  • Schedule times will be adjusted.

ROUTE 558

  • Schedule times for afternoon rush-hour will be adjusted.

ROUTE 578

  • Schedule times for afternoon rush-hour will be adjusted.

ROUTE 645

  • Westbound 645A trip leaving 2nd & Washington Ave. at 4:31 p.m. will be reinstated.

ROUTE 663

  • Eastbound trip leaving Hedberg Dr. & Greenbrier Rd. at 7:00 a.m. will be reinstated.

ROUTE 667

  • Northbound trip leaving Johnson Ave. & 78th St. at 6:36 a.m. will be reinstated.
  • Westbound 667H trip leaving Washington & Hennepin at 4:15 p.m. will be reinstated.

ROUTE 672

  • One additional eastbound morning trip and westbound afternoon trip will be added, one trip in each direction. These trips will travel non-stop between Wayzata Park & Ride and downtown for a faster trip option.
  • Two eastbound morning and two westbound afternoon trips will be extended to Maple Plain via Long Lake, Orono.
  • Eastbound morning and westbound afternoon Route 672 reverse-commute schedule between Wayzata and Minneapolis will be reduced to three trips in each direction.
  • Eastbound trip departing Wayzata Park & Ride at 4:45 p.m. will be eliminated.
  • The Carlson Center loop is discontinued. Buses will stay on Carlson Pkwy.
  • Westbound reverse commute trips will no longer travel via General Mills Blvd.
  • Minor trip time adjustments on most trips.

ROUTE 673

  • Westbound trip leaving 2nd St. and 1st Ave. at 4:49 p.m. will leave at 4:51 p.m.
  • Westbound trip leaving 2nd St. and 1st Ave. at 4:57 p.m. will be eliminated.

ROUTE 674

  • This route will be consolidated with Route 672. Route 674 number will no longer be used.
  • Two eastbound morning and two westbound afternoon trips on Route 672 will be extended to Maple Plain via Long Lake, Orono.
  • These trips will serve the same downtown work shift times as now served by Route 674.
  • Route will be unchanged between Maple Plain and Wayzata.
  • Travel time between areas currently served by Route 674 and downtown will be 8-10 min. longer on Route 672. Buses will travel locally between Wayzata Park & Ride and Plymouth Rd. Park & Ride before operating express on I-394.

ROUTE 721

  • Northbound 721C trip leaving 6th St. & 10th Ave. at 4:07 p.m. will be reinstated.
  • Southbound 721A trip leaving Hennepin Technical College at 5:19 p.m. will be reinstated.
  • Northbound 721C trip currently leaving 6th St. & 10th Ave. at 7:39 a.m. will instead leave from Brooklyn Center Transit Center at 8 a.m.
  • Northbound 721C trip currently leaving 6th St. & 10th Ave. at 5:49 p.m. will instead leave from Brooklyn Center Transit Center at 6:35 p.m.
  • Southbound 721C trips leaving Hennepin Technical College at 3:29 and 4:38 p.m. will now end at Brooklyn Center Transit Center.

ROUTE 722

  • Schedule times will be adjusted, all days of the week.

ROUTE 723

  • New routing for northbound buses leaving Brooklyn Center Transit Center will begin.
  • Schedule times will be adjusted, all days of the week.

ROUTE 755

  • Southbound buses return to 8th St. in downtown Minneapolis.

ROUTE 760

  • Northbound 760A trip leaving 12th St. & Hennepin at 4:43 p.m. will be reinstated.
  • Southbound trip leaving Yates Ave. & Xylon Ave. at 6:39 a.m. will be eliminated.
  • Southbound trip leaving Yates Ave. & Xylon Ave. at 6:53 a.m. will leave 8 minutes earlier at 6:45 a.m.
  • Northbound trip leaving 12th St. & Hennepin Ave. at 5:36 p.m. will serve the E branch.

ROUTE 761

  • Southbound trip leaving Yates & 80th Ave. at 6:56 a.m. will be reinstated.

ROUTE 766

  • Southbound trip leaving Richardson Park & Ride at 6:47 a.m. will be reinstated.
  • Northbound 766G trip leaving 2nd Ave. and 10th St. at 4:18 p.m. will be reinstated.
  • Southbound trip leaving Richardson Park & Ride at 6:37 a.m. will be eliminated.
  • Northbound 766G trips leaving 2nd Ave. and 10th St. at 4:48 p.m. will be eliminated.
  • Schedule times will be adjusted.

ROUTE 767

  • Southbound trip leaving 63rd Ave. Park & Ride at 6:21 a.m. will be eliminated.
  • Alternate service available on Route 760.

ROUTE 768

  • Southbound trip leaving Noble Park & Ride at 7:40 a.m. will be reinstated.
  • Northbound trip leaving 2nd Ave. & 10th St. at 3:59 p.m. will be eliminated.
  • Schedule times will be adjusted.

ROUTE 781

  • New (781P) branch created to extend some trips to Parkway Station; which replaces Zachary Lane Park & Ride.

ROUTE 782

  • Schedule and map adjusted to reflect actual routing.

ROUTE 785

  • Northbound trip leaving 2nd Ave. & 10th St. at 4:13 p.m. will leave at 4:18 p.m.

ROUTE 787

  • Route will be eliminated.
  • Use Route 781P for alternate service to Parkway Station.

ROUTE 825

  • Southbound trip currently leaving Northtown Transit Center at 6:41 a.m. will leave at 6:38 a.m.
  • Northbound trip currently leaving 2nd Ave. and 11th St. at 4:17 p.m. will leave at 4:22 p.m.

ROUTE 850

  • Southbound trip leaving Anoka Technical College at 6:54 a.m. will be reinstated.
  • Northbound trips leaving 2nd Ave. & 11th St. at 4:21 (850F) and 5:29 p.m. (850A) will be reinstated.

ROUTE 854

  • Southbound trip leaving Paul Pkwy. Park & Ride at 5:58 a.m. will be reinstated.
  • Southbound trip leaving Northtown Transit Center at 7:26 a.m. will be reinstated.

ROUTE 860

  • Southbound trip leaving Coon Rapids* Riverdale Station at 6:52 a.m. will leave at 6:48 a.m.
  • Northbound trip leaving 5th St. & Minnesota at 4:13 p.m. will leave at 4:10 p.m.
  • Northbound trip leaving 5th St. & Minnesota at 4:51 p.m. will leave at 4:46 p.m.
