Metro Transit (Minnesota) 6-9-2018

Routes will change on June 9

Effective Saturday, June 9, changes were made to routes operated by Metro Transit & Maple Grove Transit.

Below is an overview of the changes.

Updated printed schedules will be available on buses and trains and at Metro Transit Service Centers beginning June 1.

ROUTE 2

• Schedule times will be adjusted to reflect reopening of Franklin Ave. bridge.

ROUTE 4

• Route 4G New Brighton trips will be re-routed from 37th Ave. NE to 39th Ave. NE between Stinson and Silver Lake Rd. to better serve the Silver Lake Village area.

• Schedule times will be adjusted.

ROUTE 14

• The northbound route will move from 4th St. to 7th St. downtown.

ROUTE 32

• Schedule times will be adjusted on all service days to better reflect current travel time.

ROUTE 46

• Schedule times will be adjusted to maintain connections with Route 535.

ROUTE 54

• New limited-stop weekday and Saturday service to eastside St. Paul and Maplewood Mall begins.

• Half the trips from W. 7th will extend to Maplewood Mall (Route 54M), alternating with Route 54 trips ending at Union Depot.

• Service on the new eastside extension will be every 20 minutes during morning and afternoon rush-hours, every 30 minutes for weekday non-rush-hours and Saturdays.

• Improved 10-minute service during morning and evening rush-hours between Mall of America and downtown St. Paul.

• Added weekday trip starting 4:59 a.m. from Union Depot to Mall of America.

ROUTE 133*

• New route via Park Ave. and Portland Ave., no stops, during I-35W construction. No service on 38th St. west of Portland Ave.

• Lake St. stop will no longer be served.

• Service will begin earlier and end later to better serve workday start and end times in downtown; 6 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 6 p.m.

• Schedule times will be adjusted to maintain reliability during construction.

ROUTE 135*

• New route via 1st Ave. and Blaisdell Ave., Grand Ave. between 48th and 31st streets. No service on 35th & 36th streets.

» Northbound stop on 1st Ave. at Lake St. is dropoff by request only.

» Southbound stop on Blaisdell at Lake St.

• Service will begin earlier and end later to better serve workday start and end times in downtown; 6 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 6 p.m.

• Schedule times will be adjusted to maintain reliability during construction.

ROUTE 141

• Re-routed to 39th Ave. NE to better serve the Silver Lake Village area. Buses will no longer travel on 37th Ave. NE between Stinson and Silver Lake Rd.

• Schedule times will be adjusted.

ROUTE 146*

• New route via 1st Ave. and Blaisdell Ave. during I-35W construction. Northbound stop on 1st Ave. at Lake St. is drop-off by request only. Southbound stop on Blaisdell at Lake St.

• Service will begin earlier and end later to better serve workday start and end times in downtown; 6 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 6 p.m.

• Schedule times will be adjusted to maintain reliability during construction.

ROUTE 156*

• New route via Park Ave. and Portland Ave., no stops, during I-35W construction.

• Lake St. stop will no longer be served.

• Service will begin earlier and end later to better serve workday start and end times in downtown; 6 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 6 p.m.

ROUTE 467*

• New route via Park Ave. and Portland Ave., no stops, during I-35W construction.

• Southbound trip leaving Gateway Ramp at 12:08 p.m. will be eliminated.

• Southbound trip leaving Gateway Ramp at 1:47 p.m. will be rescheduled to 2:04 p.m.

• Northbound trip leaving Kenrick Ave. Park & Ride at 1:01 p.m. will be eliminated.

• Lake St. stop will no longer be served. • Service will begin earlier and end later to better serve workday start and end times in downtown; 6 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 6 p.m.

• Schedule times will be adjusted to maintain reliability during construction.

ROUTE 535*

• New route via 1st Ave. and Blaisdell Ave. during I-35W construction. Northbound stop on 1st Ave. at Lake St. is drop-off by request only. Southbound stop on Blaisdell at Lake St.

• Weekday service will be improved to every 10 minutes during rush hours, every 30-minutes during midday and commutes at night north of I-494.

• New 30-minute weekend service between South Bloomington Transit Center and downtown Minneapolis.

• Schedule times will be adjusted to maintain reliability during construction.

ROUTE 540*

• Rush-hour service decreased to every 20 minutes during rush hours.

• Schedule times will be adjusted to accommodate better connections with Route 535 service.

ROUTE 542

• Schedule times will be adjusted to accommodate better connections with Route 535 service.

ROUTE 552*

• New route via Park Ave. and Portland Ave., no stops, during I-35W construction.

• Additional trips will replace Route 553 service on 12th Ave. S. in the morning and evening.

• Lake St. stop will no longer be served.

• Service will begin earlier and end later to better serve workday start and end times in downtown; 6 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 6 p.m.

• Schedule times will be adjusted to maintain reliability during construction.

ROUTE 553*

• New route via Park Ave. and Portland Ave., no stops, during I-35W construction.

• Service on 12th Ave. S. will be replaced by additional trips on Route 552.

• Lake St. stop will no longer be served.

• Service will begin earlier and end later to better serve workday start and end times in downtown; 6 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 6 p.m.

• Schedule times will be adjusted to maintain reliability during construction.

ROUTE 554*

• New route via Park Ave. and Portland Ave., no stops, during I-35W construction.

• Lake St. stop will no longer be served.

• Service will begin earlier and end later to better serve workday start and end times in downtown; 6 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 6 p.m.

ROUTE 597*

• New route via 1st Ave. and Blaisdell Ave. during I-35W construction. Northbound stop on 1st Ave. at Lake St. is drop-off by request only. Southbound stop on Blaisdell at Lake St.

• The last afternoon trip from Bloomington Ferry Rd. and to 9th St. will depart at 5:47 p.m. and be extended to downtown Minneapolis.

• Schedule times will be adjusted to maintain reliability during construction.

ROUTE 755

• Schedule times will be adjusted to better reflect current travel time.

ROUTE 860

• New routing to Co. Rd. H Park & Ride, southeast corner of Co. Rd. H and I-35W, to account for loss of Mermaid Supper Club Park & Ride.

• Southbound trip currently scheduled at 6th & Cedar at 6:37 a.m. will start earlier to arrive at 6:25 a.m.

• Schedule times will be adjusted.

Maple Grove Transit

ROUTE 789

• The 8:03 a.m. southbound trip from Maple Grove Transit Station and the 4:45 p.m. northbound trip from Oak St. and Washington Ave. will operate all summer.

Minnesota Valley Transit Authority

Many Minnesota Valley Transit Authority (MVTA) routes had service and schedule changes that took place Saturday, May 19.
