NEW SERVICE CHANGES System-wide service changes effective Sunday, February 16th

TUCSON, Ariz. – On Sunday, February 16th, new service changes will begin for multiple Sun Tran and Sun Express routes. Transit users should check the details of their individual schedules. New changes include the following:

Sun Tran

  • Routes 3, 8, 11 and 61 will have weekday schedule adjustments.
  • Route 7 will adjust the Saturday schedule.
  • Route 9 will change routing at its east end to the Udall Station stop. Buses will travel south on Kolb Rd. to Sabino Canyon Rd., and then travel north to Udall Station.
  • Route 15 will have weekday schedule adjustments.
  • Routes 10 and 17 will modify routing to re-direct at the Prince & Flowing Wells intersection. No service or stops will be eliminated.
    • Route 10 (Flowing Wells) will now be named Route 10 (Ruthrauff), and will have weekday and weekend schedule adjustments. The route will travel west at Prince Rd. to Curtis Rd., following the current routing traveled by Route 17. Passengers riding from the downtown Ronstadt Transit Center can take Route 10 (Ruthrauff) to directly access Sun Tran’s Administrative Office for services including Lost & Found, Human Resources, and SunGO Customer Service.
    • Route 17 (Country Club/29th St.) will re-direct at Prince/Flowing Wells and travel north on Flowing Wells Rd. to the Tohono Transit Center, following the current routing traveled by Route 10.
  • Route 24 will modify routing at the Desert Diamond Casino. The bus stop at Desert Diamond/Nogales Hwy. will relocate to Los Reales Rd/Nogales Hwy. Route 24 will continue south on Nogales Hwy. to provide service to nearby businesses between Topawa Drive and Vamori Street/Aero Park Boulevard.
  • Route 27 has weekday and weekend schedule adjustments. The bus stop at Ignacio M. Baumea/Valencia will relocate to the Casino del Sol Park & Ride.
  • Route 29 will relocate the bus stop at Ignacio M. Baumea/Valencia to the Casino del Sol Park & Ride.

Sun Express

  • Route 101X (Golf Links-Downtown) will have weekday schedule adjustments and has added a new stop on Harrison Road at 22nd Street.

Sun Shuttle routes and schedules will remain the same.

Passengers can find updated route schedules and fare information online and in Sun Tran’s Route Booklets, located on transit vehicles and at various locations throughout Tucson. Current schedules and routes are set to expire February 15th.

Updates to the transit service occur throughout the year as an ongoing effort to meet the needs of the community and to keep the system as convenient, accessible and efficient as possible.
