SERVICE CHANGES EFFECTIVE AUGUST 26, 2019

NEW ROUTES FOR IMPROVED SERVICE

Beginning in August, Primo 102 Military will connect the Kel-Lac Transit Center along Military Drive to the new VIA Brooks Transit Center, upgrading the service from Route 550/551 with weekday service frequency every 12 minutes during peak times.

Additionally, Route 552 Loop 410 / W.W. White Skip will serve the segment of Route 550/551 between Kel-Lac Transit Center northward to Brooks Transit Center.

Route 550/551 Looper Skip will be replaced by routes 552 and Primo 102.

BROOKS TRANSIT CENTER OPENS

VIA's new Brooks Transit Center offers a full-service information center with customer assistance Monday through Friday.

Brooks is home to VIA's latest smart transit hub. That means customers can enjoy a state-of-the-art facility with real-time, next-bus information, ticket vending machines, free Wi-Fi, restrooms and vending machines and more in a cool, air-conditioned space.

The following routes will be modified to serve the Brooks Transit Center in addition to routes 102 and 552:

6 US-281 Express will be extended from Downtown to the new VIA Brooks Transit Center via Cesar Chavez Blvd., I-37, and SE Military Dr.

20 New Braunfels Frequent will travel on New Braunfels Ave. to the Brooks Transit Center. The route will depart the center on Sydney Brooks and resume normal route to Brookside.

32 Steves will be extended to the Brooks Transit Center along Military Dr., City Base Landing and Sidney Brooks.

34 South St. Mary's Frequent will enter the Brooks Transit Center along normal route.

36 South Presa will be modified to serve the Brooks Transit Center via Sydney Brooks.

UTSA AND DOWNTOWN CHANGES

*Route 17 IH-35 Express will travel west through Downtown on Commerce Street instead of Cesar Chavez Blvd.

*Route 26 Martin Luther King will turn right on Alamo St. from Cesar Chavez Boulevard, left on Commerce Street and ontinue through Downtown to Centro Plaza.

*Route 93 IH-10 Crossroads / UTSA Express will be consolidated with Route 94 and serve La Cantera, The Rim, UTSA Main Campus, University Park & Ride, Crossroads Park & Ride, UTSA Downtown Campus and Centro Plaza. Through Downtown the route will travel west on Commerce Street, south on IH-35 Frontage, where it will serve UTSA Downtown Campus before it resumes regular route to the UTSA Main Campus and The Rim.

Service frequency during weekday peak hours will be every 15 minutes and every 30 minutes in mid-day. Weekday and weekend service to the Rim will increase frequency to every 30 minutes.

Route 94 IH-10 / Fiesta Texas Express will be consolidated with the new Route 93 IH-10 / UTSA Express.

*Primo 100 turns left on Bowie Street from Houston Street, right on Commerce Street and continues through Downtown to Centro Plaza resuming regular route to the Medical Center Transit Center.

VIVA centro 301 will be modified due to construction. From Houston Street, the route will operate north on Santa Rosa Street, Travis Street and Avenue E and continue regular route on Alamo Street.

* These routes will operate on Commerce St. instead of Cesar Chavez Blvd. when construction is completed which is expected Fall 2019.

NORTH STAR TRANSIT CENTER CHANGES

Route 3 San Pedro Skip and Route 4 San Pedro Frequent will no longer serve Loop 410, McCullough Avenue and Rector Street. When departing the North Star Transit Center, Route 3 and Route 4 will turn left on San Pedro Avenue and continue southbound.

Routes with other minor schedule adjustments include: 2, 28, 64, 76, 90, 96
