Transit Service Changes for October 23, 2017

Valley Metro sought public comment from April 17 - May 19, 2017 on proposed service adjustments scheduled to take effect on October 23, 2017.

Service Changes Overview

Route 19 – 19th Avenue: Extend route from Pinnacle Peak Rd. to Happy Valley Rd. on 23rd Ave.

Route 29 – Thomas: Increase minimum frequency to 15 minutes between Desert Sky Transit Center and 44th St. from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Route 50 – Camelback: Increase minimum frequency to 15 minutes between 67th Ave. and 44th St. from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Route 60 – Bethany Home: Extend route from 16th St. and Bethany Home Rd. to Camelback Rd. and 24th St. In Glendale, remove 83rd Ave. segment to avoid duplication of service with Route 83.

Route 67 – 67th Avenue: In Glendale, remove deviation to Arrowhead Transit Center and extend route to Abrazo Arrowhead Hospital.

Route 72 – Scottsdale/Rural: In Scottsdale, increase Sunday frequency to 30 minutes between Tempe Transportation Center and HonorHealth Scottsdale Thompson Peak.

Route 83 – 83rd Avenue: In Glendale and Peoria, extend route from 83rd Ave. and Camelback Rd. to Arrowhead Transit Center. Service in Glendale and Peoria will operate every 30 minutes Monday-Friday and hourly on weekends and holidays.

Route 104 – Alma School: Modify south end of route (see map for route options).

Route 112 – Country Club/Arizona Avenue: Increase weekday frequency to 15 minutes from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. between the Chandler Park-and-Ride and Main St. The Hamilton St. and Morelos St. segment will be served by Route 104.

Route 136 – Gilbert Road: In Chandler, southbound trips will end at Ryan Rd.

Route 140 – Ray: New route operating on Ray Rd. from 48th St. to Gilbert Rd. with 30-minute frequency on weekdays and Saturdays.

Route 685 – Ajo/Gila Bend to Phoenix: In Buckeye, modify route to serve Estrella Mountain Community College.

GUS 2: Modify route to serve area east of Downtown Glendale.

Orbit Saturn: New route in Tempe with 30-minute frequency on weekdays and weekends.

Zoom North: New route in Avondale with 30-minute frequency on weekdays and Saturday.
