Base fare
Base fare means the local one way cash fare for adults. Transit agencies typically set prices for other fares off the base fare. (e.g. Monthly pass fare is 30 times the base fare. One way fare for seniors and disabled is 1/2 of the base fare. One way fare on express routes is twice the base fare.) However, transit agencies generally round the fares for other categories to the nearest nickel or quarter so the proportions aren't always exact in practice.
