Bay to Breakers

Bay to Breakers (May 17) is an annual footrace starting from Downtown San Francisco and ending in the Golden Gate Park.

Muni

Muni's special bus and Metro service charges a premium fare of $7. Tickets for special service are good on all routes except cable cars and 74X-CultureBus until 5pm.

Special service information

Muni Metro subway service will be available from West Portal station to Embarcadero Station, with no stops at Civic Center, Powell, and Montgomery.

Muni's regular service is also available, but expects detours or route interruptions.

BART

BART stations will open at about 5:30am and service will begin at about 6:00am, two hours earlier than the usual start time. Riders are urged to use either the Embarcadero Station and Montgomery Station to avoid crowding.

Bicycles will not be permitted on special trains.

After the race, take Muni's Downtown Express to downtown or West Portal Express to West Portal Station, then transfer to Muni Metro to BART.

Caltrain

Caltrain special service

From 4th & King Station, take Muni Metro N and T. Line 10 will be rerouted to run along The Embarcadero. Lines 30 and 45 will not serve Caltrain.
