This underground station has a direct concourse connection to Powell Station located under Market Street, and is served as a transfer point between the T line and all other Muni Metro lines and BART.

Muni Metro opens until about midnight.

Cash fare riders can buy a Muni ticket or Clipper card from any Muni ticket machine on the concourse level (1 level below street). Riders with a valid Muni ticket, Clipper card, or Clipper enabled phones can pass through any Muni faregate and proceed to the platform located below the concourse. Riders with other forms of passes or transfers should use the faregate next to the attendant booth and show the pass or transfer to the attendant. Riders must keep the proof of payment for the ride.

Elevators serving the street and concourse are available at the north end of station by Union Square and south end by Powell Station on the north side of Market Street. Elevators serving the concourse and the platform are located at the middle of the station, behind accessible faregates.
