Metrolink to introduce new schedule with clockface service

Metrolink will introduce a new schedule on October 21, offering increased service and new connections on weekdays. Thirty-two weekday trains will be added, with most operating on a clockface schedule. Most trains will arrive and depart around the bottom of the hour at LA Union Station, offering connections of about 10 to 20 minutes between Metrolink lines.

The San Bernardino Line will offer hourly service to and from San Bernardino and half-hourly service between LA Union Station and Covina. The Arrow DMU will also operate at least hourly with timed transfers to the San Bernardino main line. However, the last trains from Union Station will depart an hour earlier, at 8:38 pm.

The IEOC Line will offer weekday service every 1 to 2 hours (clockface schedule) to Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo, but only one trip to and from Oceanside.

Orange County Line will offer service all day, with hourly service during peak hours and midday service every two hours. Service will operate later into the night, but the first train from Orange County will depart about an hour later.

Riverside Line will primarily offer peak hour service, operating hourly on a clockface schedule.

Ventura County Line will have weekday service running mostly on a clockface schedule: hourly during peak hours (to/from Moorpark) and every two hours midday (to/from Chatsworth), with a night train leaving Union Station at 10:30pm. Metrolink tickets are accepted on selected “codeshare” Amtrak Surfliner trains that fill the service gap between Metrolink trains.

The 91/Perris Valley Line will add two additional trains to and from South Perris on weekdays. Overall service will run hourly during peak hours in the peak direction and every 2 to 3 hours midday and for reverse commutes, all on a clockface schedule.

The Antelope Valley Line already runs on a clockface schedule on weekdays and will mostly remain unchanged, except for additional trips serving Vista Canyon Station.
