RTC Transit 12-3-2017

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada is conducting its annual service change on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017. Below is an overview of the route changes.

Route 101 – Rainbow:

  • Minor timing changes based on completed and upcoming road construction projects

Route 102 –Jones:

  • NB a.m. span of service increase; first NB trip to begin at 4:30 a.m. on weekdays / 4:40 a.m. on weekends
    • Current NB trip starting at 5:04 a.m. changed to 5:30 a.m.
  • SB a.m. span of service increase on weekends; first SB trip to begin at 4:29 a.m. on Saturdays / 4:40 a.m. on Sundays

Route 103 –Decatur:

  • No changes

Route 104 –Valley View / Arville:

  • Increase weekend daytime frequency to every 30 minutes (currently every 40-60 minutes)
  • NB Saturday a.m. span of service increase
    • First trip currently begins at 5:16 a.m.; new first trip will begin at approx. 4:43 a.m.

Route 105 –Martin L. King: 

  • Extend Route 105 to the N. 5th Street & CC-215 area; exact routing as follows:
    • From current routing on NB Camino Al Norte, travel east on Ann, north on N. 5th, east on Deer Springs, north on Deer Springs Town Center signalized driveway, west on Dorrell, south on N. 5th, west on Centennial, south on Revere, west on Tropical, south on Camino Eldorado, becomes Camino Al Norte, and resume current routing
    • Bus stops at Hammer & Goldfield and Commerce & Hammer will be eliminated; bus stops will be available on Ann Road
  • Increase weekday afternoon frequency to every 20 minutes (currently every 22 minutes)
  • Remove Project Neon detour reference/inset

Route 106 –Rancho / Centennial Hills: 

  • Increase Sunday daytime frequency to every 30 minutes along entire route, with Routes 106A & 106B each operating once an hour, as occurs on other days of the week (current frequency is hourly north of Michael Way)
    • Provides two-way service throughout the Centennial Hills area, every day
    • Eliminates Route 106 stops on Cheyenne & Michael Way
  • Relocate 106A timepoint currently on Centennial Center just south of US-95 entrance (alongside Del Taco) to Tropical / Azure, to be consistent with Route 106B

Route 108 –Paradise / Swenson:

  • Minor timing adjustments

Route 109 –Maryland Pkwy:

  • Minor timing adjustments during certain hours to eliminate excess time which results in slightly faster service

Route 110 –Eastern:

  • Increase weekday daytime frequency to every 20 minutes (currently every 22-30 minutes)
  • Increase late evening frequency to every 30 minutes until midnight (currently every 35-52 minutes SB)
  • Increase early Sunday morning NB frequency to every 30 minutes from 6 a.m. – 7:30 a.m. (currently every 42-55 minutes)

Route 111 –Pecos / Green Valley Pkwy.: 

  • Increase Sunday daytime frequency to every 30 minutes (currently 45-60 minutes), with Routes 111A & 111B each operating once an hour, as occurs on other days of the week
    • Provides two-way service along both Green Valley Pkwy & South Pecos, every day
  • Modify northbound trips to end on NB Pecos just south of Craig; no Route 111 service to Walnut
  • SB a.m. span of service increase; first SB trip to begin at 4:04 a.m. on weekdays / 4:18 a.m. on Saturdays

Route 113 –Las Vegas Blvd. North:

  • No changes

Route 115 –Nellis / Stephanie: 

  • Increase daytime frequency to every 20 minutes, everyday (current frequency is every 23-30 minutes)
    • Frequency south of Russell / along Stephanie will be every 40 minutes (current frequency is every 46-60 minutes)

Route 117 –Las Vegas Blvd. South / Silverado Ranch:

  • Trip start time adjustments

Route 119 –Simmons / Koval:

  • SB p.m. span of service increase; add a full SB trip beginning at 12:30 a.m., every day
  • Increase weekend morning frequency to every 50 minutes (current frequency is hourly)
  • Weekend trip start time adjustments

Route 120 –Fort Apache / Rampart: 

  • No changes

Route 121 –Buffalo / Durango: 

  • No changes

Route 122 –South Maryland Pkwy / Horizon Ridge: 

  • Route timing adjustments to produce faster service
  • Trip start time adjustments

Route 201 –Tropicana: 

  • Increase weekday morning frequency to every 15 minutes, starting at 6 a.m. (currently every 20 minutes EB from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m.)
  • Adjust EB timepoint location currently listed as Buffalo & Patrick to be Patrick & Pioneer to better reflect actual bus stop location

Route 202 –Flamingo:

  • No changes

Route 203 –Spring Mtn / Desert Inn / Lamb:

  • Route timing & other adjustments to improve OTP
  • One additional EB/NB trip added each day during early a.m. hours and one additional SB/WB trip added on weekdays during early a.m. hours, increasing service to a consistent 30 minute frequency earlier in the morning

Route 206 –Charleston:

  • Increase weekday morning frequency to every 15 minutes, starting at 6 a.m. (currently every 20 minutes from 6 a.m. to approx. 8 a.m. – 9 a.m.)
  • Increase evening frequency to every 20 minutes from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., every day (currently every 30 minutes)
  • Increase late evening frequency to every 30 minutes from 10:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., every day (currently every 34-47 minutes)
  • Remove Project Neon detour reference / inset
  • Remove Downtown Summerlin layover construction / relocation notice

Route 207 –Alta / Stewart: 

  • Relocate WB timepoint at Meadows Mall to Valley View, for consistency
  • Install a new bus stop on EB Meadows Lane across from Meadows Mall. This is now possible due to a recently installed sidewalk in this area.

Route 208 –Washington:

  • Eliminate weekend routing that serves Meadows Lane; weekend routing will match the current weekday routing
    • Route 104 weekend frequency is being increased to compensate for loss of Route 208 in the Meadows Mall area on weekends. Route 207 also will also continue to serve Meadows Lane & Meadows Mall area.
  • Increase Saturday late morning / afternoon service to a consistent 30 minute frequency (currently about every 33 minutes)
  • Decrease Sunday late morning / afternoon service to a consistent 60 minute frequency (currently every 50 minutes)
  • Minor timing adjustments

Route 209 –Vegas / Owens: 

  • Minor timing adjustments

Route 210 –Lake Mead Blvd: 

  • No changes

Route 212 –Sunset Road: 

  • Minor timing adjustments                     

Route 214 –H Street / D Street:

  • Minor timing adjustments

Route 215 –Bonanza:

  • EB a.m. span of service increase; add EB trip beginning at 4:33-4:39 a.m., every day
  • Sunday schedule adjustments

Route 217 –Warm Springs / Downtown Henderson:

  • Modify EB routing to eliminate safety concerns about merging onto EB I-215 at Gibson; exact routing as follows:
    • From EB Warm Springs, travel south on Gibson, west on I-215, exit Stephanie, enter EB I-215 to Lake Mead Pkwy, and resume current routing
    • No bus stops will be added or removed
  • Modify WB routing in Downtown Henderson due to relocation of a key bus stop on Water Street; exact routing as follows:
    • From NB Pacific, travel east on Basic, north on Water, west on Lake Mead Pkwy, and resume current routing
    • Bus stop and time point currently located on NB Water at Army will relocated to NB Water between Basic and Atlantic
  • Most Route 217 EB trips will continue as Route 122 SB after a brief layover at SSTT. This will improve OTP along the route
    • Customers traveling EB that board before SSTT & are continuing east of SSTT will need to change buses at SSTT or Warm Springs & Gilespie

Route 218 –Cheyenne:

  • WB weekday a.m. span of service increase; first trip to begin at 4:30 a.m., with a second trip added at approximately 5:14 a.m. on weekdays
  • One additional EB trip added during early a.m. hours on weekdays, resulting in consistent 30 minute frequency beginning at 5 a.m.
  • M. span of service increase; partial last trips that currently begin at 12:39 a.m. / 12:41 a.m. will now become full trips and begin slightly later, at 12:47 a.m. / 12:48 a.m.

Route 219 –Craig: 

  • Minor schedule adjustment on Saturdays; no changes to Weekdays or Sundays

Deuce on the Strip: 

  • No changes

SDX –Strip & Downtown Express:

  • Remove EB Ogden @ Main as a bus stop from signage, as it will be closed until mid-2019 due to adjacent property construction

BHX –Boulder Highway Express: 

  • Increase weekday morning frequency to every 15 minutes, starting at 6 a.m. (currently every 20 minutes)
  • Modify NB (towards BTC) routing to use Carson instead of Ogden in Downtown between Casino Center and 8th, making service more direct. Exact routing as follows:
    • NB (towards BTC), from Fremont: south on 8th, west on Carson, and south on Casino Center to BTC
      • One bus stop on Ogden between 6th and Las Vegas Blvd. will no longer be served; new bus stop / timepoint will be added on Carson just before Las Vegas Blvd.
    • No change to SB (towards Henderson) routing

SX –Sahara Express: 

  • Increase weekday morning frequency to every 15 minutes, starting at 6 a.m. (currently every 20 minutes until 9 a.m. EB / 8 a.m. WB)
  • Increase evening frequency to every 20 minutes from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., every day (currently every 30 minutes)

CX –Centennial Express:

  • Modify Transit Guide to reflect permanent routing change made as a detour in early March 2017 for exiting the Centennial Hills Transit Center (CHTC); exact routing as follows:
    • From current layover on WB Ace Blvd, use roundabout to turn around onto EB Ace Blvd, north on Grand Montecito, north/west on Oso Blanca, north on Durango, south on US-95, and resume current routing
    • Route timing & bus stops not affected
  • Minor timing adjustments to account for roadway changes and construction associated with Project Neon
  • Add new bus stop for NB trips on WB Russell between Landing Strip & Spencer

WAX –Westcliff Airport Express:

  • Minor timing adjustments to account for roadway changes and construction associated with Project Neon

HDX –Henderson & Downtown Express:

  • Modify Transit Guide to show new SB routing that will be used once Phase I of I-11 construction is completed (end of 2017); exact routing as follows:
    • SB: from NV State College (Liberal Arts Building), continue east on Paradise Hills, south on a new access road at the current Dawson alignment to the Railroad Pass interchange, enter Railroad Pass, and exit Railroad Pass towards Boulder City, resume current routing
      • The current detour will continue to be used until the new access road is opened
    • No change to NB routing

DVX –Downtown & Veteran’s Medical Center Express: 

  • Span of service increases:
    • First SB trip of the morning will now begin at approximately 4:30 a.m., every day
    • First NB trip of the morning will now begin at approximately 4:47 a.m. on weekdays / 5 a.m. on weekends
    • Last NB trip of the night will now begin at 12:43 a.m., every day
