Sacramento RT 6-15-2020

Additional Service to Help with Social Distancing and Essential Travel The Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) added additional weekday bus service, weekday light rail service and expanded three SmaRT Ride service zones to help essential employees get to work and allow customers to travel to other vital destinations around the region. This change partially restored bus service levels to approximately 80 to 85 percent of SacRT’s regular service levels.

The new bus schedules took effect on Sunday, June 14 and the new light rail schedule and SmaRT Ride zone expansions began on Monday, June 15.

On March 23, SacRT temporarily reduced service due to COVID-19 related school and business closures and Administration orders to “shelter-in-place.” On April 13, SacRT added additional trips to five highly utilized bus routes and added shadow buses on other busy routes.

The June 2020 service improvements include earlier start times for most weekday bus routes, additional trips at the end of the route, and/or added frequency during peak hours to better serve riders. Weekend bus service is not affected. In addition, SacRT continues to operate a Sunday/holiday schedule on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays (except as noted for bus routes 78 and 142). Weekday light rail service improvement includes earlier start times, beginning 15-minute service earlier and later service hours.

Weekday bus departure and arrival times will change for most routes, so customers should familiarize themselves with the new June 14 schedules below. The June 2020 service improvement timetables are available at http://www.sacrt.com/schedules/2020jun.aspx

The only change to the ADA paratransit service is that SacRT will operate the service directly, instead of contracting it to Paratransit, Inc. SacRT’s ADA paratransit service team will include many of the same drivers and reservationists that are currently employed by Paratransit, Inc. Current service levels will not change and fares will not increase.
