Automated people mover
Automated people mover represents various train types where vehicles run without operators. APM systems may have steel wheels or rubber tires, self propelled with electric motors or pulled by a cable. APM systems are grade separated to reduce outside interference.
APM is suitable in places where very frequent service is required (every few minutes) covering short distances (a few miles at most). APMs are common in airports connecting airport terminals and nearby facilities and at resort areas.
