Schedules

RTA Red Line is a rapid transit system due to a grade separated route, high platforms, and use of subway style vehicles. It is the only other rapid transit system in the Mid-west besides Chicago and the only system between Chicago and the East Coast. It is also the first system to directly serve an airport. Because of declining population in the city over the decades the RTA Red line ranks low in terms of ridership and productivity compared to other systems nationwide.

Service runs every 10 minutes on weekdays during peak hours and every 15 minutes midday, evening, weekends.

This line uses proof of payment fare system. Passengers purchase a ticket at the station from ticket vending machines before boarding the train. All passengers must pass through turnstiles with a valid fare media when boarding or exiting at Tower City-Public Square Station.

Level boarding is provided at all station for all cars. However there's one inaccessible station due to lack of an accessible route between the street and platform.
