Metro Rail B Line is one of the two subway lines in Los Angeles. This line entirely underground from Union Station in Downtown LA to North Hollywood in San Fernando Valley. This line serves popular destinations including Hollywood and Universal Studios.

This line charges the same fares as other bus and light rail lines, and is also the only subway system that uses the proof of payment fare system. However turnstiles have been installed at stations to address the perception of high fare evasion.

Schedules

Red line trains run every 10 minutes during weekday peak hours, every 12 minutes midday, and every 20 minutes from about 8pm to after midnight. Weekend daytime service runs about every 12-15 minutes. Service between Wilshire/Vermont and Union Station is twice as frequent because of parallel D Line service.

At Union Station, the Red Line connects with Metro L Line as well as Metrolink and Amtrak. At 7th Street/Metro Center in downtown, it connects with Metro A Line to Long Beach. In North Hollywood, it connects with Metro G Line bus rapid transit to Warner Center.
