Sacramento Valley Station is a major transit hub in the Sacramento area, with train connections throughout California.

Monitors in the tunnel to the platforms provide boarding location and time for upcoming trains.

This station is served by Capitol Corridor, San Joaquins, Coast Starlight, California Zephyr trains, and Amtrak Thruway buses.

Amtrak tickets are sold at the ticket counter in the main building, or via QuikTrak machines. Checked baggage service is available for Coast Starlight and Thruway bus passengers at the ticket counter. Amtrak train platforms are located about 1.5 blocks north of the station building. Riders are advised to allow for extra time to walk (via a pedestrian tunnel and covered walkway) between the platform and the building. Cart service is available to riders who need assistance. All Thruway buses stop at the bus plaza on the north side of the station building.

Platform for light rail is located on the north side of the station building and by the walkway to the Amtrak platforms. Ticket machines are located on the platform. Buy ticket before boarding. This station features a single track.

Only the Gold Line trains serve this station directly. Riders to stations along the Blue Line or Green Line line can take the Gold line from this station and transfer to other lines in Downtown, or walk several blocks (within 10 minutes) to other light rail stations in Downtown Sacramento that are served by those lines.
