Service Change Information Beginning Saturday, March 11, 2017

Metro will be adding trips to reduce overcrowding on more than 30 routes and adjusting schedules to improve reliability on 60 routes.

This is the first round of investments being made as part of the adopted 2017-2018 Metro budget which includes addition of more than 300,000 annual service hours to improve service throughout King County.

Metro will also be making routing changes to several routes, including extending routes 3 and 4 to Seattle Pacific University, shortening DART Route 907 to operate between Renton and Black Diamond only, and launching a new Community Ride service between Black Diamond and Enumclaw.

Black Diamond-Enumclaw Community Ride

Beginning Monday, February 20, replacement service for the deleted portion of DART Route 907 will be provided by the new Black Diamond-Enumclaw Community Ride. This DART service will operate within the existing Black Diamond and Enumclaw DART areas served by Route 907 and also connect the two cities via Highway 169. An expanded DART area bordered by Baker St, Railroad Ave, Jones Lake Road, 3rd Ave (Hwy 169), Lawson St, 6th Ave, Baker St and 3rd Ave will also be served by the Black Diamond-Enumclaw Community Ride.

The Black Diamond-Enumclaw Community Ride will operate Monday-Friday from about 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Regular Metro fares will be collected.

Reservations can be made by calling 1-866-261-3278 (voice) or 1-800-246-1646 (TTY) during the following hours:

Monday-Friday 5 AM – 11 PM Saturday 7:30 AM – 9:30 PM Sunday 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM Leave a message at all other times. Reservations can also be made online.

You need to make your trip request at least two hours in advance of your pick up time. Reservations can be made for 30 days at a time, up to 30 days in advance. Reservations will be taken on a first-come, first served basis.

Routes 3 & 4

Maps showing revised routes 3 & 4. Open the PDF. Routes 3 and 4 to Queen Anne will be extended to Seattle Pacific University via W McGraw St and 3rd Ave W. This extension will provide transfer opportunities on Nickerson St with routes 31 and 32 to Fremont and the U-District.

Route 3 will no longer operate on Queen Anne Ave N north of W McGraw St, or on Raye St and 2nd Ave W. Route 4 will no longer operate to or from Nob Hill via Queen Anne Ave N south of Boston St, or on Blaine St, 2nd Ave N, Galer St, Nob Hill Ave N and Garfield St.

Routes 3 and 4 trips serving Madrona and Judkins Park that end in downtown Seattle will not be extended to Seattle Pacific University but the current level of service will be maintained.

Route 5

On weekdays, two new morning southbound trips will be added improving service frequency to every 12 minutes from Shoreline CC between approximately 6:32 AM and 8:08 AM.

Route 8

On weekdays, Route 8 will be improved to operate every 15 minutes from the Seattle Center to the Mount Baker TC between 7:54 PM and 8:54 PM.

On Sunday, Route 8 will be improved to operate every 20 minutes from the Seattle Center to the Mount Baker TC between 9 AM and 9 PM, and from the Mount Baker TC to the Seattle Center between 8:45 AM and 8:45 PM.

Route 15E

A new morning Route 15E trip to downtown Seattle will be added. Existing trip times will be adjusted to provide trips leaving every 8-12 minutes from 14th Ave NW & NW 105th St between approximately 6:53 AM and 8:22 AM. Additionally, one new late morning trip departing 14th Ave NW & NW 105th St at approximately 8:43 AM will be added.

Also, a new trip to Blue Ridge leaving 4th Ave S & S Jackson St at 6:32 PM will be added.

Routes 17E & 18E

New later morning and later afternoon trips will be added to Route 17E. The new trips will be approximately 30 minutes later than the current last trips.

A new northbound Route 18E trip leaving downtown Seattle will be added between 4 PM and 5 PM, while trips on both routes 17E and 18E will be adjusted to provide more frequent service.

Route 21E

A new Route 21E trip to Arbor Heights leaving 1st Ave & Blanchard St at 6:35 PM will be added.

Route 26E

A new Route 26E trip to downtown Seattle leaving NE Ravenna Blvd & Woodlawn Ave NE will be added at approximately 7:20 AM and other trips will be adjusted.

Route 28E

Two new morning peak-period Route 28E trips to downtown Seattle will be added between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM, improving service frequency to every 7-10 minutes leaving 8th Ave NW & NW 97th St between 6:47 AM and 8:37 AM.

Route 31

A new Route 31 trip to the U-District will leave 34th Ave W & W McGraw St at 7:50 AM.

Route 32

The current Route 32 trip to the U-District leaving 1st Ave N & Republican St at 7:53 PM will be cancelled. A new Route 32 trip to the U-District will leave 1st Ave N & Republican St at 8:25 PM.

Route 40

On weekdays, three new northbound Route 40 trips from downtown Seattle to Northgate will be added improving service frequency to every 7-10 minutes between 4 PM and 7 PM.

Route 41

On weekdays, Route 41 southbound service frequency will be improved to every 10 minutes leaving Lake City between 9 AM and 10 AM.

Weekday Route 41 northbound service frequency will be improved to every 10 minutes leaving the International District/Chinatown Station between 6:30 PM and 7 PM.

Route 48

Beginning Saturday, March 11, northbound route 48 to the U-District will return to regular routing on 23rd Ave between E Union and E John streets.

Route 48 will no longer operate westbound on E Union St, northbound on 19th Ave E or eastbound on E Thomas St.

Route 60

On weekdays, Route 60 southbound service frequency will be improved to every 15 minutes leaving Broadway Ave E & E Republican St between 6:35 AM and 7:50 AM. Weekday Route 60 southbound service frequency will also improve to every 15 minutes leaving Broadway Ave E & E Republican St between 2:40 PM and 3:40 PM.

Weekday Route 60 northbound service frequency will be improved to every 15 minutes leaving 25th Ave SW & SW Trenton St between 2:30 PM and 3:50 PM.

Route 62

On weekdays, two new morning Route 62 trips to downtown Seattle leaving from Woodlawn Ave NE & NE Ravenna Blvd will be added. As a result, service frequency will improve to every 7 to 10 minutes arriving in downtown Seattle between 7 AM and 10 AM.

On weekdays, one new afternoon Route 62 trip from downtown Seattle to Sand Point will be added, improving service frequency to every 10 minutes leaving S Jackson St & Occidental Ave S between 5:45 PM and 6:15 PM

Routes 63 & 64

A new Route 63 trip to Northgate leaving E Jefferson St & 17th Ave at 6 PM will be added. The routes 63 and 64 trips leaving E Jefferson St & 17th Ave between 5:35 PM and 7:30 PM will be adjusted to improve service frequency.

Morning Route 64 trips to First Hill will be adjusted by a few minutes in order to better stagger trips with Route 63 between the Green Lake P&R and First Hill.

Route 65

On weekdays, service frequency will be improved to every 12 minutes between 5 PM and 6 PM leaving from NE 143rd St & 17th Ave NE to the U-District, and between 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM leaving from Roosevelt Way NE & NE 45th St to Jackson Park.

On weekday evenings, service frequency will be improved to every 15 minutes until 9:25 PM leaving NE 143rd St & 17th Ave NE to the U-District, and until 10:05 PM leaving Roosevelt Way NE & NE 45th St to Jackson Park.

On Saturday evenings, service frequency will be improved to every 15 minutes until 9:30 PM leaving NE 143rd St & 17th Ave NE to the U-District, and until 9:55 PM leaving Roosevelt Way NE & NE 45th St to Jackson Park.

Route 67

On weekdays, service frequency will be improved to every 12 minutes between 6:15 PM and 7:15 PM leaving the Northgate TC to the U-District, and between 5:30 PM and 6:30 PM leaving Sand Point Way NE & NE 40th St to Northgate.

On Saturday evenings, service frequency will be improved to every 15 minutes until 9:38 PM leaving the Northgate TC to the U-District, and until 9:45 PM leaving Sand Point Way NE & NE 40th St to Northgate.

Route 70

Two new morning Route 70 trips to downtown Seattle will be added improving service frequency to every 7-8 minutes leaving Brooklyn Ave NE & NE 50th St between 7:30 AM and 9:30 AM.

Also, a new afternoon Route 70 trip to the U-District will be added improving service frequency to every 7-8 minutes leaving Prefontaine Place S & Yesler Way between 4:20 PM and 5:12 PM.

Route 74

Two new morning Route 74 trips to downtown Seattle will be added improving service frequency to every 12-15 minutes leaving Sand Point Way NE & NE 77th St between 6:22 AM and 8:26 AM.

Routes 74 and 355 trips will be rescheduled in order to better stagger trips between the U-District and downtown Seattle. Combined, the two routes will provide trips about every 6-10 minutes between approximately 6 AM and 9 AM.

Route 75

A new Route 75 trip to Northgate leaving NE Campus Parkway & University Way NE (Bay 2) at 3:14 PM will be added.

On weekday evenings, service frequency will be improved to every 15 minutes until 9:09 PM leaving NE Campus Parkway & University Way NE to Northgate.

Routes 101 & 102

A new morning Route 102 trip leaving 140th Way SE & SE 158th St at 6:20 AM will be added.

The Route 101 trip departing the South Renton P&R at 6:54 AM will be deleted and replaced by the new Route 102 trip. A new northbound Route 101 trip leaving Bay 6 at the Renton TC at 9:22 AM will be added and start times for other trips around this time will be adjusted.

A new southbound Route 101 trip leaving Bay C at Convention Place Station at 7:54 AM will be added.

Route 106

The express stop portion of Route 106 that operates in both directions on Rainier Ave S between S Forest St and S Dearborn St will be changed to local service and all bus stops will be served.

Route 111

The morning Route 111 trip that formerly started in Renton Highlands (Monroe Ave NE & NE 4th St) will be extended to start in Maplewood. The afternoon Route 111 trip that formerly ended in Renton Highlands will be extended to end in Maplewood (Jericho Ave NE & NE 4th St). Both trips will now provide service along the entire length of Route 111 between Maplewood and downtown Seattle.

Routes 121, 122 & 123

The afternoon terminal for routes 121 and 122 to Highline College will be relocated from Blanchard St & 7th Ave to a new location eastbound on Eagle St just east of Western Ave. Routes 121 and 122 will no longer serve the bus stop westbound on Bell St just west of 7th Ave. The bus stop southbound on 2nd Ave just south of Bell St will be the first one served by both of these routes.

Two new morning Route 121 trips to downtown Seattle leaving Bay 3 at the Burien TC will be added. Existing trip times on routes 121, 122 and 123 will be adjusted so that trips will arrive in downtown Seattle at 1st Ave & Union St every 6-10 minutes between approximately 7:10 AM and 9 AM.

A new afternoon Route 121 trip to the Burien TC leaving from downtown Seattle will be added. Current trip times on routes 121, 122 and 123 will be adjusted so that trips will leave from 2nd Ave & Pike St every 7-10 minutes between approximately 4:05 PM and 5:45 PM.

Route 143

A new southbound Route 143 trip to Black Diamond leaving Bay 4 at the Renton TC at 6:11 AM will be added.

Routes 157, 158, 159 & 192

The afternoon terminals for routes 157 to the Lake Meridian P&R, 158 to Kent and 159 to Timberlane will be relocated from Blanchard St & 5th Ave (Routes 157 & 158) and Lenora St & 5th Ave (Route 159) to a new location southbound on 1st Ave just south of Eagle St.

Routes 157, 158 and 159 will no longer serve the bus stop westbound on Lenora St just east of 4th Ave. The bus stop southbound on 2nd Ave just south of Bell St will be the first one served by all of these routes.

A new Route 158 trip to downtown Seattle leaving Bay 9 at Kent Station at 5:10 AM will be added.

Morning trip times on routes 158, 159 and 192 will be adjusted in order to provide more even spacing between trips and to provide arrivals in downtown Seattle at 2nd Ave & Pike St between approximately 6:40 AM and 8 AM.

Route 212

Three new early morning Route 212 trips to downtown Seattle leaving Bay 1 at the Eastgate P&R will be added to accommodate increased demand when the South Bellevue P&R closes. Existing Route 212 trips will be rescheduled in order to provide departures from the Eastgate P&R every 10-20 minutes between approximately 6 AM and 7 AM.

A new morning Route 212 trip to the Eastgate P&R leaving 2nd Ave & Bell St at approximately 8:43 AM will be added.

A new afternoon Route 212 trip to the Eastgate P&R will be added improving service frequency to 7-8 minutes leaving 2nd Ave & Bell St between approximately 4 PM and 4:30 PM.

Routes 216, 218 & 219

Two new morning Route 218 trips to downtown Seattle leaving Bay 4 at the Issaquah Highlands P&R will be added. Trip times on routes 216, 218 and 219 will be adjusted to provide trips leaving the Issaquah Highlands P&R every 5-10 minutes between approximately 6:08 AM and 7:18 AM.

One new afternoon Route 216 trip to the Bear Creek P&R leaving Pine St & 9th Ave at 3:08 PM will be added. Routes 216, 218 and 219 trip times will be adjusted to provide trips departing Pine St & 9th Ave about every 10 minutes between approximately 3:08 PM and 4:07 PM.

Routes 241, 550, 555 & 556

When the South Bellevue P&R closes later this spring for East Link construction, Metro Route 241 and Sound Transit routes 550, 555 and 556 will no longer serve Bay 2. Instead, these routes will serve the bus stop west of the park & ride, southbound on Bellevue Way SE just north of 112th Ave SE, currently served by Route 249.

Bay 1 at the South Bellevue P&R is unaffected by this change and will continue to be served by routes 241, 550, 555 and 556. However, there may be occasions when Bay 1 needs to be temporarily relocated to accommodate construction activities.

Routes 252 & 257

A new morning Route 257 trip to downtown Seattle will be added. Trip times on routes 252 and 257 will be adjusted to provide trips leaving Kingsgate P&R about every 7-9 minutes between approximately 6:34 AM and 7:20 AM.

Route 255

On weekdays, two new morning trips from the Kirkland TC to downtown Seattle will be added. Trip times on existing trips will be adjusted to provide trips leaving the Kirkland TC every 6-8 minutes between approximately 6:55 AM and 8:40 AM.

On weekdays, a new afternoon trip from downtown Seattle to the Totem Lake TC will be added. Trip times on existing trips will be adjusted to provide trips leaving the International District/Chinatown Station every 6-8 minutes between approximately 4 PM and 5:22 PM.

Route 271

On weekdays, two new morning eastbound trips will be added. Trip times on existing trips will be adjusted to provide trips leaving 15th Ave NE & NE 43rd St every 8 minutes between approximately 7 AM and 8:40 AM. On weekdays, one new afternoon westbound trip between the Eastgate P&R and the U-District will be added. Trip times on existing trips will be adjusted to provide trips leaving the Bellevue TC every 8-9 minutes between approximately 4:35 PM and 5:15 PM.

When the UW is not in session, all Route 271 trips scheduled to arrive or leave the U-District between 5 PM and 6 PM will be maintained.

Route 311

One new trip to downtown Seattle leaving the Woodinville P&R at 8:33 AM will be added. Also, a new trip to Woodinville leaving 5th Ave S & S Jackson St at 6:40 PM will be added.

Route 346

On weekdays, a new trip to the Northgate TC leaving Meridian Ave N & N 145th St at 3:20 PM will be added.

Route 355

A new Route 355 trip leaving Shoreline CC at 7:09 AM will be added, while other trips will be adjusted to improve service frequency. Additionally, the Route 355 schedule has been adjusted to better reflect actual travel times.

Routes 74 and 355 trips will be rescheduled in order to better stagger trips between the U-District and downtown Seattle. Combined, the two routes will provide trips about every 6-10 minutes between approximately 6 AM and 9 AM.

Route 372

On weekdays, two new late afternoon trips from UW Bothell/Cascadia College to the U-District will be added. These new trips will extend the period of 15 minute service frequency arriving in the U-District until about 7:55 PM. One new trip from the U-District to UW Bothell/Cascadia College leaving at 2:27 PM from NE Campus Parkway & University Way NE will also be added.

On weekdays, two new early evening trips from the U-District to UW Bothell/Cascadia College will be added. These new trips will extend the period of 15 minute service frequency leaving the U-District until approximately 8:22 PM.

On Sunday, service frequency will improve to every 20 minutes for southbound trips operating from Lake City Way NE & NE 130th St between 9:13 AM and 7:11 PM, and for northbound trips from NE Campus Parkway & University Way NE between 9:44 AM and 7:44 PM.

Also, when the UW is not in session, four morning weekday trips from the Kenmore P&R to the U-District will be removed from the list of trips that are canceled when the UW is on a reduced weekday schedule. With this change, service frequency will improve to every 7-15 minutes when the UW is not in session.

Route 630 (Mercer Island Community Shuttle)

Route 630 will now serve the bus stop northbound on Rainier Ave S just north of S Dearborn St. This bus stop is also served by routes 7, 9E and 106.

DART Route 907

Map showing Route 907. Open the PDF. Beginning Monday, March 13, DART Route 907 will be revised to operate between Bay 7 at the Renton TC and Baker St & 3rd Ave in Black Diamond only. In conjunction with this revised routing, DART Route 907 service frequency will improve to every 60 minutes between 7:50 AM and 4:50 PM.

DART Route 907 will no longer operate between Black Diamond and Enumclaw or serve the DART area west of the Renton TC. The existing DART area in Black Diamond will remain unchanged and will continue to be served by DART Route 907.

Beginning Monday, February 20, replacement service for the deleted portion of DART Route 907 will be provided by the new Black Diamond-Enumclaw Community Ride (see Black Diamond-Enumclaw Community Ride).

On weekdays only beginning Monday, March 13, DART Route 915 will be extended from Griffin Ave & Roosevelt Ave E to the Enumclaw Pool just north of McDougall Ave and adjacent to Enumclaw High School to serve the bus stops in south Enumclaw that were previously served by DART Route 907 (see DART Route 915).

Beginning Monday, March 13, DART Route 915 will be extended from Griffin Ave & Roosevelt Ave E to the Enumclaw Pool just north of McDougall Ave (adjacent to Enumclaw High School). On weekdays only, DART Route 915 will operate every 60 minutes between 8:50 AM and 4:19 PM providing replacement service for revised DART Route 907 (see DART Route 907).

Saturday DART Route 915 service is unaffected by this change and will continue to operate to and from its terminal at Griffin Ave & Roosevelt Ave E.

On weekdays, a new RapidRide C Line trip to downtown Seattle leaving 26th Ave SW & SW Barton St will be added. Existing trip times will be adjusted to provide trips arriving in downtown Seattle every 5-8 minutes between approximately 8:45 AM and 9:25 AM.

Also, a new weekday RapidRide C Line trip to Westwood Village leaving Valley St & Fairview Ave N will be added. Existing trip times will be adjusted to provide trips departing South Lake Union every 8-9 minutes between 5:45 PM and 6:16 PM.

RapidRide D Line

On weekdays, a new RapidRide D Line trip to downtown Seattle leaving NW 100th Place & 7th Ave NW at 3:14 PM will be added. This added trip will help relieve overcrowding from the end of the school day at Ballard High School.

RapidRide E Line

On weekdays, a new morning RapidRide E Line trip to downtown Seattle leaving Bay 10 at the Aurora Village TC will be added. Existing trip times will be adjusted to provide trips arriving at S Washington St & 3rd Ave in downtown Seattle every 4 minutes between approximately 8:11 PM and 8:31 PM.

Also, a new weekday RapidRide E Line trip to the Aurora Village TC from downtown Seattle will be added. Existing trip times will be adjusted to provide trips leaving Prefontaine Place S & Yesler Way every 4-5 minutes between approximately 4:24 PM and 4:52 PM.

Metro Transit

Metro will operate a Sunday schedule on:

University of Washington

Routes 31, 32, 73, 75, 167, 197, 271, 277, 372 and 373 will have selected weekday trips canceled when the UW is not in session:

Monday, March 20 to Friday, March 24 Monday, June 12 to Friday, September 22 Shoreline Community College

Route 331, which operates between the Kenmore P&R and Shoreline Community College, will also have trips suspended on the following dates:
