June Service Changes

Changes go into effect on Sunday, June 11, 2017. Be sure to pick up a new BLUE timetable for the affected routes!

*Routes marked with an asterisk below have schedule adjustments, in addition to the changes listed.

Routes Description of Changes
Orange Line
  • The Downtown San Diego terminal for the Orange Line will change from Santa Fe Depot to America Plaza; all Orange Line trips will now terminate at America Plaza.

    • Connections with the Green Line can be made by crossing Kettner Blvd.

    • At America Plaza, all Blue Line trains will depart from the track closest to the Museum of Modern Art. All Orange Line trains will depart from the track closest to Starbucks.

    • When transferring from the Green Line, note that Rapid Bus Routes 215 and 235 also provide service into Downtown from Kettner Blvd. (in front of Santa Fe Depot).

  • Route 2 Sunday service along Adams Avenue will be discontinued, replaced by added service on Route 11. (Note that Route 11 doesn’t run as early or as late as Route 2 on Sundays. For earlier or later Sunday service, riders may board Route 2 on 30th Street or Rapid 215 on El Cajon Blvd.)

    • Eastbound University Ave. at Third Ave. and @ Richmond St.

    • Westbound University Ave. at Richmond St.

    • Westbound Washington St. at Third Ave.

  • Sunday service north of Downtown will increase from every 60 to 30 minutes, replacing the Route 2 extension along Adams Avenue.

  • Route will be extended to Ashwood St. in Lakeside, with a new terminal and stop at Mapleview St. and Ashwood St. This extension will operate as a pilot for up to 12 months.

  • Route 854X trips are discontinued during the summer. Service to Grossmont College remains available on other days on regular Route 854 trips and on Route 115.

  • Route will be adjusted in El Cajon, with service between Avocado Ave. and the El Cajon Transit Center changed to Washington Street instead of Main St. and Douglas Avenue. Service to Downtown El Cajon remains available via a transfer at the El Cajon Transit Center with Routes 815 and 816.

  • Added service and no fare for summer, beginning Saturday, May 27! As Coronado’s “Free Summer Shuttle,” Route 904 frequency increases to every 15 minutes seven days/week, with later evening service on Fridays and Saturdays. Additional service and free fares sponsored by the City of Coronado. Also, Route 904 will have a new schedule with adjustments, effective June 11.

  • Route will be adjusted as follows:

    • The City Heights Transit Plaza terminal (at Fwy. 15) will move to the north side of University Avenue. From the terminal, the route will now turn left on 39th St., left on Wightman St., and right on 41st St.

    • Route will run westbound from Euclid Ave. along University Ave. instead of Landis St.
