RideKC 1-7-2018


RideKC will make the following service changes starting Sunday, Jan. 7. The changes are being made to improve service.

11 Northeast-Westside: As part of a new short-term pilot program, new weekday service will be extended to the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan. It will no longer end at 31st Street and Southwest Boulevard. The service will run every 30 minutes from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and hourly from 7 p.m. to midnight. The new service gives riders a direct trip from downtown Kansas City, Mo. and the Northeast Neighborhood to the medical center. The route will travel along Southwest Boulevard to Rainbow Boulevard and the medical center. Inbound tips will loop around medical center, going east on 39th Street, south on State Line Road, west on Olathe Boulevard and north on Rainbow to resume the route. Weekday, Saturday and Sunday schedules will also be adjusted by several minutes to improve on-time performance.

24 Independence: The route will be changed because the bus stop on Grand Boulevard at 11th Street was moved to the southwest corner of the intersection from the northwest corner to adjust for new bike lanes. The route will continue to travel south on Grand but will go west on 13th Street, then north on Baltimore to the 10th and Main Transit Center. New service will stop on the southbound side of 11th and Grand and at midblock on the southbound side of 12th and Grand. The route will no longer serve the stop at Petticoat and Main. Weekday, Saturday and Sunday schedules will also be adjusted by several minutes to improve on-time performance.

28 Blue Ridge: Weekday and Saturday schedules will be adjusted by several minutes to improve on-time performance.

57 Wornall: All schedules be adjusted by several minutes to improve on-time performance. Additional stop added at Wornall at 75th to improve transfers to other routes.

75 75th Street: Weekday and Saturday schedules will be changed by several minutes to improve on-time performance. Route now travels into 3-Trails Transit Center. Route will travel south on Blue Ridge, left into transit center, then east on Bannister Road before resuming regular route on Blue Ridge.

114 Amazon Link: Route recently upgraded to a larger bus because of increased ridership and route popularity to Amazon Fulfilment Center in Kansas City, Kan.

Route Changes start Tuesday, Jan. 2

115 Kansas Avenue: Route will be changed to provide more direct service to Wild Woody’s supermarket on South 65th Street and Kaw Drive. Route will no longer serve Kaw Drive south of Kansas Avenue, Swartz Road or South 78th Street. The route will now travel west on Kansas Avenue, then north on 72nd Street to Riverview with new service to Cambridge Apartments. Route will serve the Amazon Fulfillment center at Turner Diagonal and Interstate 70. Schedule times will be changed by one or two minutes between time points.

116 West Parallel: Route will be changed to provide more direct service to the Village West East development with additional services to Dairy Farmers of America and Frontier Justice. Route will no longer serve Parallel Parkway from North 99th Street to Village West Parkway. Route will now travel on Parallel Parkway to North 99th Street, south on 98th Street, west on France Family Drive and northwest on Village West Parkway to resume the regular route.

404 Metcalf-Downtown, 435 JOCO Downtown Midday, 519 Olathe Express, 563 Shawnee Express, 569 South OP Express, 595 Gardner-OP Express: Route alignments modified slightly to provide better connections to Federal Reserve. Just past Crown Center, routes will continue past 27th Street until Grand curves and intersects with Main. Routes will turn north onto Main with service at bus stop on Main at 27th before resuming regular routing. Scheduled times will not change.
