We’re excited to offer our customers new transit options in 2017 with the opening of the R line through Aurora on Friday, February 24, 2017. The new rail lines represent significant milestones in improved connectivity, better travel times, and restructured bus service to meet the transit needs of our customers.

New Rail Lines Opening
R Line
New R line service arrived Friday, February 24, 2017. The new 10.5-mile rail extension (22 miles in total) provides service through Aurora and Denver and provide connections to the A line with stops serving major activity centers including the Aurora City Center, Anschutz/Fitzsimons Medical Campus, Children’s Hospital, and the new VA Hospital. The new R line serves eight new stations, including Peoria, Fitzsimons, Colfax, 13th Avenue, 2nd & Abilene, Aurora Metro Center, Florida, Iliff Avenue, and serve the existing stations from Nine Mile Station to Lincoln Station. Service will be rerouted from Nine Mile Station to the new Iliff Station, which will discontinue service along Yale and Peoria to Nine Mile Station. Alternate service will be provided by Route 130. Service will continue to operate east of Tower Road to Flanders Street. Midday service will be added with hourly frequency.
