Changes impacting your service

At RTD, we're committed to building and operating the most productive, efficient transit system for the communities we serve. Every day, activities occur within our community that can affect our transit system � traffic patterns, economic factors, ridership and customer feedback. We respond by making changes to our bus and rail system three times a year. These changes help to improve our service by maximizing the efficiency of existing resources, reducing duplication of service, and making better connections with bus, rail, and specialty services.

These services changes will take effect on August 25, 2019.

Final Service Changes

Final Changes for Local/Limited Bus Routes

• route 0 - The following bus stops will be eliminated due to low usage and/or proximity to other bus stops:
  • Broadway and Panama Drive
  • Broadway and Bannock Street
• route 0L - The following bus stops will be eliminated due to low usage and/or proximity to other bus stops:
  • Broadway and Panama Drive
  • Broadway and Bannock Street
• route 3L - A bus stop will be added at Speer Boulevard and Washington Street to serve a developing high-density neighborhood.
• route 4 - Saturday service will be implemented due to strong weekday ridership.
• route 6 - Schedule adjustments will be made.
• route 10 - One trip will be added from 9th and Clermont to downtown Denver between 7:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Additionally, nine morning westbound trips that currently terminate at 15th Street and Delgany, will instead terminate at Wewatta and 17th streets (adjacent to the Wewatta Pavilion at Union Station). Schedule adjustments will also be made.
• route 20 - Schedule adjustments will be made.
• route 28 - Weekday eastbound trips at 6:27 a.m., 6:52 a.m., 7:22 a.m., and 10:17 p.m. currently originating at 26th and Wadsworth will be extended to instead originate at the Ward Road Park-n-Ride. These trips will no longer deviate to serve the stop at 29th and Wadsworth. Westbound trips at 5:15 p.m., 10:07 p.m., and 11:37 p.m. currently terminating at 26th and Wadsworth will be extended to instead terminate at the Ward Road Park-n-Ride.Saturday and Sunday eastbound trips at 8:39 p.m. and 10:09 p.m. currently originating at 26th and Wadsworth will be extended to instead originate at the Ward Road Park-n-Ride. These trips will no longer deviate to serve the stop at 29th and Wadsworth. Westbound trips at 8:36 p.m., 10:06 p.m., and 11:36 p.m. currently terminating at 26th and Wadsworth will be extended to instead terminate at the Ward Road Park-n-Ride.
• route 31 - Early morning and late evening trips will be cut back to begin and end at 106th and Melody instead of the current location at 112th Avenue on the Front Range Community College campus. This change is due to a request from Front Range Community College for RTD to vacate its existing on-campus bus terminal at times when the campus is closed.
• route 33 discontinued - Service will be discontinued due to low ridership. Service will be replaced by a new Platte Valley FlexRide.
• route 36L - Schedule adjustments will be made to improve on-time performance.
• route 43 - The following bus stops will be eliminated due to low usage and/or proximity to other bus stops:
  • 31st Avenue and Marion Street (eastbound)
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Ivy Street (both directions)
• route 46 - Service will be rerouted from Virginia Avenue and Colorado Boulevard, via north on Colorado Boulevard to 1st Avenue then west to Adams and Ellsworth.
• route 48 - Schedule adjustments will be made.
• route 66 - Weekend schedule adjustments will be made. In addition, the following bus stops will be eliminated due to low usage and/or proximity to other bus stops:
  • Fremont Drive and Eagle Street
  • Revere Parkway and Briarwood Avenue
  • Arapahoe Road and Kenton Street
  • Boston Street and Caley Avenue
  • 8500 block Arapahoe Road
  • Arapahoe Road and Arapahoe Court
  • 7500 block Arapahoe Road
  • Arapahoe Road and Albion Street
  • Broadway and Panama Drive
  • Broadway and Bannock Street
  • Littleton Boulevard and Elati Way
  • Littleton Boulevard and Foresthill Street
  • Littleton Boulevard and Gallup Street
  • Littleton Boulevard and Hickory Way
• route 83L - A bus stop will be added at Speer Boulevard and Washington Street to serve a developing high-density neighborhood.
• route 100L - The existing long distance trips at 4:12 p.m. and 5:12 p.m. leaving Civic Center Station currently to Ken Caryl Ranch will operate only to Federal Center Station. Replacement long distance trips to Ken Caryl Ranch from Civic Center Station will depart at 4:29 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
• route 120 - Saturday service will be implemented between US 36 & Broomfield Station and Wagon Road Park-n-Ride from 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
• route 135 - Schedule adjustments will be made to improve on-time performance.
• route 139 - Schedule adjustments will be made to improve on-time performance.
• route 206 - Schedule adjustments will be made.
• route 209 - Schedule adjustments will be made.
• routes 225/225D/225E - Schedule adjustments will be made.
• route 228 - The Flatiron Mall loop in the northbound direction will be removed to match service on the southbound direction loop. Weekday midday service will be discontinued between US 36 & Broomfield Station and Flatiron Mall due to low ridership. Saturday and Sunday service south of Flatiron Mall will be rerouted to US 36 & Flatiron Station instead of US 36 & Broomfield Station due to low ridership. Alternate service will be available on the Flatiron Flyer between US 36 & Broomfield Station and Flatiron Mall.
• route DASH - Schedule adjustments will be made.
• route SKIP - Schedule adjustments will be made.
• route STAMPEDE - As per an agreement between RTD and University of Colorado Boulder, RTD service on Route STAMPEDE will be replaced by the University of Colorado Boulder effective August 12, 2019.
• route Broomfield FlexRide - One FlexRide vehicle will be removed and the service area will be reduced to Sheridan on the east boundary. Service times for the reduced area will remain from 5:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The City and County of Broomfield applied for a new grant to keep the expanded service area and the 2nd vehicle. If this grant is approved prior to the August service change implementation, this recommendation will be withdrawn.
• route Golden FlexRide - RTD and the City of Golden agreed to a Cost Share Agreement in August 2017, in which the City agreed to pay for one additional vehicle for the Golden FlexRide. Prior to the agreement, the Golden FlexRide operated one bus every 15 minutes and one bus every 30 minutes on the flex route. Currently, two buses operate the on demand service in Golden. Current service will be maintained.
• route Platte Valley FlexRide new - The new Platte Valley FlexRide will replace service on Route 33. Trips will match the Route 33 with the same service times and alignment except the FlexRide will travel on Lipan Street rather than Kalamath Street.
• route Superior FlexRide - Current service will be maintained. This FlexRide was formerly funded by a Congestion Mitigation Air Quality grant applied for by the Town of Superior.

Final Changes for Regional Routes

• route AB - The last westbound trip at 12:55 a.m. from Denver International Airport will be changed to instead depart at 1:20 a.m.
• route FF6 - Schedule adjustments will be made.
• route P - The southbound trip at 6:06 p.m. from Civic Center Station will instead depart at 6:15 p.m. to improve reliability.
• route Y - The morning southbound trip from Main and 4th at 6:35 a.m. will be changed to 6:45 a.m.

Final Changes for Rail Service

• route E Line - Minor schedule adjustments will be made.
• route F Line - Minor schedule adjustments will be made.
• route L Line - Minor schedule adjustments will be made.
• route R Line - Minor schedule adjustments will be made.
• route W Line - Minor schedule adjustments will be made.
