Denver RTD 9-3-2023
RTD is implementing service changes on September 3 to increase reliability, improve on-time performance, address changing travel needs, and support the agency's System Optimization Plan.
These service changes will take effect on September 3, 2023.
Final Changes for Local/Limited Bus Routes
- Route 8 - modified
Minor schedule adjustments being made to weekday and weekend schedules to increase on-time performance.
- Route 11 - modified
Reinstating seasonal school-tripper service.
- Route 16 - modified
As outlined in the System Optimization Plan (SOP) Route 16 will be split into two distinct service patterns, Route 16 and Route 17.
The new Route 16 will operate between Colfax Avenue/Broadway and Oak Station. Route 17 will service Federal Center Station and 10th Street/Washington Ave in Golden, CO, with connections to route 16 at Oak Station.
Changes are being implemented to increase opportunities for transfers at Federal Center Station and increase on-time performance on West Colfax. .
Frequency and Operating Hours
Weekdays: 15-min from 4 a.m. - 7 p.m.
30-min from 7 p.m. - 1 a.m.
Saturday: 15-min from 5 a.m. - 7 p.m.
30-min from 7 p.m. - 1 a.m.
Sunday: 15-min from 5 a.m. - 7 p.m.
30-min from 7 p.m. - 1 a.m.
- Route 17 - new

- Route 19 - modified
Minor schedule adjustments being made to weekday and weekend schedules to increase on-time performance.
- Route 20 - modified
Reinstating seasonal school-tripper service.
- Route 21 - modified
Minor schedule adjustments being made to increase on-time performance.
- Route 24 - modified
Minor schedule adjustments being made to the weekday and weekend schedules to increase on-time performance, while also reinstating seasonal school-tripper service.
- Route 30 - modified
Reinstating seasonal school-tripper service. Removing Stop #13700 in response to the Denver Human Services office moving and to promote more efficient spacing of stops.
- Route 51 - modified
Reinstating seasonal school-tripper service.
- Route 65 - modified
As outlined in the System Optimization Plan, RTD is expanding operating hours to improve service reliability. Weekday service will run from 5 a.m. to midnight and weekend service will run 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. School-tripper service is also being reinstated.
- Route 66 - modified
Minor schedule adjustments being made to better serve shift times at Colorado Center for the Blind.
The following trips will be discontinued per low ridership:
Weekdays: 5:17am and 10:10pm (eastbound), 10:09pm and 11:09pm (westbound)
Weekends: 11:41pm (westbound)
- Route 73 - modified
As outlined in the System Optimization Plan, RTD is streamlining the southern portion of the route to serve Belleview Station via Union Blvd. Schedule adjustments being made and school-tripper service is being reinstated.
- Route 76 - modified
Minor schedule adjustments being made to increase on-time performance.
- Route 105 - modified
As outlined in the System Optimization Plan, RTD is shortening the southern portion of the route at Southmoor Station. RTD is also increasing midday service on Sundays to 15-minute frequency based on increased ridership.
- Route 120E/120W - modified
Rerouting all trips to the Wagon Road Park-n-Ride to improve bus network connectivity and increase transit network access.
- Route 121 - modified
As outlined in the System Optimization Plan (SOP), RTD is implementing 15-minute service on Saturdays south of Peoria Station, with every other trip continuing to the 40th Ave & Airport Blvd-Gateway Park Station. While recommended in the SOP, adjustments to weekday service are not being made at this time.
- Route 225 - modified
Seasonal schedule adjustments being made while also returning weekday service frequency for fall and winter.
- Route DASH - modified
Seasonal schedule adjustments being made while also returning weekday service frequency for fall and winter.
- Route JUMP - modified
Seasonal schedule adjustments being made while also returning weekday service frequency for fall and winter.
- Route SKIP - modified
Seasonal schedule adjustments being made while also returning weekday service frequency for fall and winter.
Final Changes for Regional Bus Routes
- Route FF1 - modified
Minor schedule adjustments being made to weekday schedules to increase on-time performance.
- Route GS - reinstated
As outlined in the System Optimization Plan, RTD is reinstating four northbound trips (6:52 a.m., 8:22 a.m., 3:48 p.m., 5:10 p.m.) between Federal Center Station and Downtown Boulder Station, as well as four southbound trips (6:52 a.m., 8:21 a.m., 3:48 p.m., 5:13 p.m.) between Downtown Boulder Station and Federal Center Station.
- Route NB - modified
Seasonal route and schedule adjustments being made to extend route to Eldora Ski Resort while resort is operating in winter.
- Route P - modified
Minor schedule adjustments being made to the weekday schedules to increase on-time performance.
Final Changes for Rail
- E Line - modified
Minor schedule adjustments being made to improve connectivity with the W Line while also minimizing impacts to service due to the Coping Panel Project.
- H Line - modified
Minor schedule adjustments being made to reduce impacts to service due to the Coping Panel Project.
- R Line - modified
Schedule adjustments being made per the R Line no longer being impacted by the Coping Panel Project.
- W Line - modified
Minor schedule adjustments being made to increase on-time performance.
