Service Change

Starting Saturday, September 21

Effective 9-21-19 thru 3-20-20

On September 21, 2019, King County Metro is adding more transit service in more places for the 10th time since 2015.

Metro will offer more than 200 new trips each weekday, 150 new trips on Saturdays, and 200 new trips on Sundays. These additions, totaling 1,350 trips per week on 35 routes, are thanks to Metro investments and Seattle Transportation Benefit District (STBD) funds from City of Seattle.

South King County routes 105, 164, 183, 346, and 906 will double in frequency, shifting from service every 60 minutes to service every 30 minutes.

Additional service change highlights include expanded hours of 10-minute service on RapidRide E Line, expanded hours of 15-minute service on routes 1, 14, 40, 41, 65, 67, and 120; new midday and Saturday service on Route 635; and later evening service on routes 40, 101 and 150. These and other changes are summarized in the information listed on this page.

Route revisions

Choose a route number to learn about the changes that will begin on Sept. 21, 2019. Some routes with small changes to trip times are not included on this page.

Routes 1, 14

On weekdays, 22 new trips will be added to provide service every 15 minutes between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., and schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trips.

Route 3

On weekdays, two new AM peak trips will be added to help address overcrowding, and schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trips.

Route 5, 5X

On weekdays, five new peak trips will be added to Route 5 and one to Route 5 Express to help address overcrowding. There will be three new AM trips southbound, and three new PM trips northbound, and schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trips.

Route 11

On weekdays, four new AM trips and two new PM trips will be added to improve service frequency, and schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trips.

Routes 15, 17, 18

Routes 15, 17 and 18 will now stop both northbound and southbound at Elliott Ave W & W Prospect St.

Route 17

On weekdays, one new PM peak trip will be added, and schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trip.

Route 21

On Saturday, between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., several new trips will be added to improve service to every 15 minutes, and schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trips.

Route 22

Route 22 will no longer operate on 24th and 25th avenues SW between SW Barton St and SW Thistle St. Route 22 will instead operate on SW Barton Pl and Delridge Way SW.

Route 28

On weekdays, one new AM peak trip will be added, and schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trip.

Route 36

On weekdays, two new AM peak hour trips and two late evening trips will be added to improve service frequency, and schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trips.

Route 40

Five trips will be added on weekdays, nine trips will be added on Saturday, and 30 trips will be added on Sunday to expand 15-minute service frequency. Schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trips.

Route 41

Eight trips will be added on weekdays, five trips will be added on Saturday, and 21 trips will be added on Sunday to expand 15-minute service frequency. Schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trips.

Route 43

On weekdays, two AM peak hour trips will be added to address overcrowding, and schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trips.

Route 44

On weekdays, two AM peak hour trips will be added to address overcrowding, and schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trips.

On Sunday, six trips will be added between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. to improve service to approximately 12-minute frequency, and schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trips.

Route 48

On weekdays, six new late evening trips will be added, and schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trips.

On Sunday, four new early morning trips will be added, and schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trips.

Route 60

On weekends, schedules will be adjusted to provide combined service every 15 minutes on routes 60 and 107, between Beacon Hill Station and Georgetown.

Routes 65, 67

Nine trips will be added on weekdays, eight trips will be added on Saturday, and 40 trips will be added on Sunday. These additions will expand the hours the route operates every 15 minutes.

Route 101

On weekdays, Saturday and Sunday, four late-night trips will be added and schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trips.

Route 105

On Sunday, 32 trips will be added to provide service every 30 minutes for most of the day.

Route 107

One new trip will be added on weekday evenings. Route 60 and 107 schedules will be adjusted to provide combined 15-minute evening and nighttime service between Beacon Hill Station and Georgetown.

Routes 116, 118, 119

Due to several SDOT construction projects, the first southbound bus stop will be southbound on 3rd Ave at Bell St.

Route 118 trips will be adjusted for better connections with Washington State Ferry service at the Vashon and Tahlequah terminals.

Route 120

Twelve new trips will be added on weekdays, 20 new trips will be added on Saturday, and 19 new trips will be added on Sunday. These trips will expand the hours when the route operates every 15 minutes, and schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trips.

Route 143

Due to several SDOT construction projects, the first bus stop will be on 2nd Ave at Bell St.

Route 150

On weekdays, Saturday and Sunday, one late night southbound trip will be added departing Union St & 5th Ave at 2:15 a.m. to improve the span of service.

Route 164

Eight trips will be added on weekday evenings and 21 trips will be added on Saturday to improve service to every 30 minutes.

Route 183

On Saturday, 20 trips will be added between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. to improve service to every 30 minutes, and schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trips.

Route 218

One AM and one PM trip will be added to help address overcrowding, and schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trips.

Route 252

One AM trip will be added to help address overcrowding, and schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trip.

Route 255

One PM peak trip will be added to help address overcrowding, and schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trip.

Route 271

One PM peak trip will be added to help address overcrowding, and schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trip.

Route 303

At the Aurora Village Transit Center, Route 303 to First Hill will no longer serve Bay 2; it will instead serve Bay 3.

Route 311

One new trip will be added departing Woodinville at 8:53 a.m. to expand the span of service.

Route 312

To provide additional space for bus layovers, the trips that depart UW Bothell at 7:02 and 7:31 a.m. will be moved to depart from the Kenmore P&R instead.

Route 346

On weekday evenings, six new trips will be added, and schedules will be adjusted to provided 15-minute staggered service with Route 345 to/from the Northgate Transit Center.

Route 372

On weekdays, two new trips will be added to improve service frequency, and schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trips.

Route 373

At the Aurora Village Transit Center, Route 373 to the University District will no longer serve Bay 3; it will instead serve Bay 2.

Two new PM peak trips will be added to improve service frequency, and schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trips.

Route 635 Des Moines Community Shuttle

New service will be added during weekday midday hours and on Saturday to improve connections to Link light rail at Angle Lake Station. Service is being expanded through a funding partnership with the City of Des Moines.

Shoreline/Lake Forest Park Community Ride

At the Aurora Village Transit Center, the Shoreline/Lake Forest Park Community Ride will no longer serve Bay 2; it will instead serve Bay 3.

DART 903

Service to NE Tacoma will be discontinued. The first and last stop will be eastbound on SW 342nd St just west of 35th Ave SW.

DART 906

On weekdays, 10 trips will be added between 7:00 and 9:00 a.m., and 2:30 and 5:30 p.m. to improve service to every 30 minutes. Schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trips.

DART 910

DART Route 910 will no longer serve the GSA/Social Security bus stop. DART Route 917 will continue to serve the stop as usual.

RapidRide C Line

On weekdays, three new AM peak and two new PM peak trips will be added to address overcrowding, and schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trips.

On Sunday, one new trip will be added in the evening, and schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trip.

RapidRide D Line

On weekdays, three new trips will be added, and schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trips.

RapidRide E Line

On weekdays, 23 trips will be added, and schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trips.

On Saturday, two late evening trips will be added, and schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trips.

ST Route 522

On weekdays, the last trip departing Woodinville at 11:59 p.m. will be discontinued. A new AM peak trip from UW Bothell will be added between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. to address overcrowding, and schedules will be adjusted to accommodate the new trip. ST Route 541

Pierce Transit will assume the operation of Route 541. Please refer to Sound Transit's website or Ride the Wave Guide for schedule times.

ST Route 554

Eastbound Route 554 trips will serve a new stop in the International District at S Jackson St & Maynard Ave S.
