FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE LONG BEACH TRANSIT AUGUST 2017 SERVICE CHANGES TO IMPROVE EFFICIENCY AND CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

(Long Beach, July 25, 2017) – Long Beach Transit announced today enhancements to operational efficiencies and customer experience through modifications to bus frequencies and routes throughout the 100 square mile service area.

The following bus lines will have more frequent service:

Routes 91/92/93/94 – Connecting Downtown Long Beach Transit Gallery to Bellflower High School via Long Beach City College and Lakewood Mall and improved service north of Cal State University Long Beach (CSULB).

The following bus lines will have service-hour modifications to improve efficiency:

Route 1 – Connecting Downtown Long Beach Transit Gallery with Cal State University, Dominguez Hills via Easy Ave., Santa Fe Ave. and Del Amo Blvd.

Route 96 ZAP – Connecting 7th St. and Long Beach Blvd. with Woodruff Ave. and Del Amo Blvd. via the Veterans Administration Medical Center and Millikan High School.

Route 102 – Last westbound Monday-Friday trip is removed.

Route 121 – Connecting Catalina Landing with Ximeno Ave. and Atherton St. via 2nd St. and Pacific Coast Highway.

The following bus lines will have route adjustments to improve connections to high-volume destinations:

Routes 101/102/103/104 – Connecting Willow St. and Santa Fe Ave. with Long Beach Towne Center via Atlantic Ave. and Carson St.

Route 51/52 – Modify to use 3rd Street to access City Place.

Route 176 - Modify to end at Long Beach City College. Full schedules are at www.lbtransit.com.
