Riverside Transit Agency 1-14-2018

On January 14, 2018, the Riverside Transit Agency (RTA) will introduce new CommuterLink Route 200 with service connecting San Bernardino, Riverside and the Disney resort in Anaheim as well as Route 205 between Lake Elsinore, Corona, and Village at Orange. RTA will also launch schedule changes to improve service frequency, reliability, on-time performance, and connections. New Ride Guides will be available on buses in late December 2017. ROUTE 3 (see map)

Route 3 will extend north on Hamner Avenue to serve the Amazon warehouses and new Costco in Eastvale. The alternate route alignment on Hamner Avenue between 68th Street and Limonite Avenue will be discontinued in Eastvale. Another discontinued portion will be 58th Street, Scholar Way, and Bellegrave Ave. in Eastvale. All trips will travel on Pats Ranch Rd. The Norco timepoint will be changed from Norco Senior Center to Norco City Hall. In Corona, northbound buses departing the Corona Transit Center will no longer serve the southern loop in Corona, but instead will travel directly north to Norco and Eastvale. The southern loop in Corona will be served by southbound buses.

ROUTE 8 (see map)

Route 8 will no longer serve the Wildomar Assisted and Independent Living Center on Pasadena Street and will instead terminate at the corner of Palomar and Elm streets where customers can transfer to and from Route 23.

ROUTE 16

Route 16 weekday trips between 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. will be increased to operate up to every 15 minutes instead of every 30 minutes for improved service frequency and enhanced connections at the Moreno Valley Mall.

ROUTE 19

Route 19 weekday trips between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. will be increased to operate up to every 15 minutes instead of every 30 minutes for improved service frequency and enhanced connections at the Moreno Valley Mall and Perris Station Transit Center.

ROUTE 21

Route 21 will be extended north to the Southridge Village Shopping Center in Fontana where customers can connect with Route 49 and Omnitrans Route 82.

ROUTE 23 (see map)

Route 23 will no longer directly serve the Wildomar Assisted and Independent Living Center on Pasadena Street and will instead terminate at the corner of Palomar and Elm streets where customers can transfer to Route 8. The two trips departing Murrieta Valley High School at 2:45 p.m. will be merged into a single trip, serving Inland Valley Medical Center, Murrieta Senior Center, as well as stops along Los Alamos Road, Madison Avenue and Hancock Avenue.

ROUTE 29 (see map)

Service frequency will be boosted to approximately every 50 minutes on weekdays and 60 minutes on weekends. The route will extend north on Hamner Avenue to serve the Amazon warehouses and new Costco in Eastvale. A portion of the route in Eastvale that serves Pats Ranch Rd, 68th St, and Hamner Avenue will be discontinued to make way for increased Route 3 service in that area. In downtown Riverside, the route will be extended to the Riverside Downtown Metrolink Station and new stops will be added along University Avenue at Market and Lemon streets.

ROUTE 30

The West Loop service in Perris will be adjusted slightly with buses travelling on Carter Dr. instead of La More Rd. The timepoint on that loop will be moved near the intersection of Weston Rd. and Carter Dr.

ROUTE 33

The westbound school-days-only trip departing the Stanford & Stetson timepoint at 2:50 p.m. will be discontinued. Service will continue to be provided at that stop and time aboard a bus that already runs every weekday.

ROUTE 49

Route 49 will be extended north to the Southridge Village Shopping Center in Fontana where customers can connect with Route 21 and Omnitrans Route 82. Service frequency will be boosted to 40 minutes on weekdays and 50 minutes on weekends. In downtown Riverside, Route 49 will be extended to Riverside-Downtown Metrolink Station and new stops will be added on University Avenue at Market and Lemon streets.

ROUTE 50 JURY TROLLEY

To accommodate the extension of the Main Street pedestrian mall, the Route 50 Jury Trolley will be rerouted in downtown Riverside to serve portions of Market, Tenth, Orange and Fourteenth streets, with stops for the courts at the intersection of Tenth and Main streets and Orange and Twelfth streets.

ROUTE 200 (see map)

Route 200 is a new CommuterLink Express route between San Bernardino and the Disney resort area in Anaheim. The route will serve stops at the San Bernardino Transit Center, downtown Riverside, Riverside-Downtown Metrolink Station, Galleria at Tyler, La Sierra Metrolink Station, Village at Orange, Katella/State College (near Angel Stadium and Honda Center), Anaheim Convention Center and Disneyland. The route will operate approximately every 60 minutes on weekdays from 3:40 a.m. to 11:15 p.m. and 60 to 120 minutes on weekends from 6 a.m. to 10:45 p.m.

ROUTE 202

The Route 202 stop at Walmart Murrieta will be moved to a new location on Madison Avenue near Mulligan Family Fun Center. Free parking will be available on weekdays in a designated section of the Mulligans parking lot.

ROUTE 205 (see map)

Route 205 is a new Commuterlink Express route connecting Temecula, Lake Elsinore, Corona and the Village at Orange. The route will operate three round trips each day during peak morning and afternoon times. The section of this route between Corona Transit Center and Village at Orange is expected to launch January 29, pending a public hearing and RTA Governing Board approval. The portion between Temecula and Corona will begin operating on January 14.

ROUTE 206 Some trips on this route will be expanded to become the new Route 205. The Route 206 stop at Walmart Murrieta will be moved to a new location at Mulligans Madison Street just north of Los Alamos Rd. Free parking will be available weekdays in a designated section of the Mulligans parking lot adjacent to the new northbound bus stop, with a new southbound stop located at Madison Street near Los Alamos Road. Times will be adjusted to allow for more reliable train connections at Corona Transit Center.

ROUTE 208

The route will be adjusted slightly between the Perris Station Transit Center and the South Perris Metrolink Station for faster travel by using portions of Case Road, 11th Street and Perris Boulevard.

ROUTES 208, 210, AND 212

These routes will get a new stop in downtown Riverside at Lemon and 14th streets.

ROUTE 216

This route will be discontinued and replaced by new routes 200 and 205.

ROUTE 217

A new weekday northbound trip will be added at 4:05 p.m. from Escondido Transit Center to Temecula Promenade Mall. Due to low ridership, the 3:27 p.m. and 4.40 p.m. weekday southbound trips departing the Hemet Valley Mall to Escondido will be adjusted to begin at the Temecula Promenade Mall at 4:12 p.m. and 5:22 p.m., respectively.

ROUTES 8, 10, 13, 14, 15, 22, 27, 30, 41, 55, 61, 79, 208 AND 212

These routes will undergo minor weekday schedule changes to improve reliability and/or connections with other routes.

ROUTES 8, 15, 24, 30, 31, AND 79

These routes will undergo minor weekend schedule changes to improve reliability and/or connections with other routes.

RTA’s next service change will occur on Sunday, May 13, 2018.
