About the route

G Line (formerly Orange Line) is a Bus Rapid Transit line through the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles. The G Line operates on an exclusive busway similar to light rail. Passengers pay fares at ticket machines on station platforms and board the bus through any door.

Service runs every 4-5 minutes during weekday peak hours, every 10 minutes midday and weekend daytime, and every 20 minutes from 8 p.m. until after midnight. Service is extended until about 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights. Selected daytime trips operate between North Hollywood and Canoga. Overnight service runs between Hollywood and Reseda.

In North Hollywood, the Orange Line connects with the Metro B Line subway to Hollywood and Downtown LA. The G Line also connects with Metrolink and Amtrak at Chatsworth.

The G Line opened for service in 2005 between North Hollywood and Warner Center. Service was extended to Chatsworth in 2012, with most G Line buses serving either Chatsworth or Warner Center. Since 2018, the Warner Center branch is no longer served by the G Line. To access the Warner Center area, transfer to the Metro Bus 601 shuttle at Canoga Station. Since 2021, G Line completely replaced CNG buses with an all electric fleet.
