The main purpose of the bike sharing system is to enhance connection to and from transit with bicycles. Former names for Bay Wheels include Ford GoBike (2017-2019) and Bay Area Bike Share (2013-2017). Lyft is the owner/operator of the bike share system so bikes can be unlocked through the Lyft app.
