A TAP card is required to ride Metro Rail (any trip), and load any pass for Metro. TAP cards ($1) are available at all Los Angeles Metro ticket machines and onboard buses (plus a day pass fare).

Riders paying one way fare with TAP card can transfer to other Metro lines with no additional cost (except Silver and express lines) up to two hours to complete a one way trip.
