Sacramento RT fares

Sacramento RT accepts cash and offers various passes and tokens.

List of monthly pass and token vendors

All types of tokens and monthly passes are available at the RT Customer Service Center in downtown Sacramento.

Daily pass can be purchased onboard buses and at light rail stations.

To ride light rail, pay fare at the ticket machine before boarding and keep the ticket for the whole trip. The one way light rail ticket is valid for 2 hours throughout the system (no need to get another ticket when transferring between light rail).

Proof of eligibility is required for senior and disabled fares.

Central City fare is valid only within the RT's Central City Zone boundaries (Downtown Sacramento south of American River, west of Alhambra Blvd, and north of Broadway).

Passes for seniors and youth come in a form of stickers. Stickers must be affixed to a photo ID issued by Sacramento RT to be valid.

Seniors 75 years or older can apply for a Lifetime pass at the Sacramento RT Customer Service Center for unlimited free rides on all RT vehicles.
