Sacramento RT fares

Sacramento RT accepts cash and offers various passes. All types of tokens and monthly passes are available at the RT Customer Service Center in downtown Sacramento. Daily pass can be purchased onboard buses and at light rail stations.

One way and daily pass

To ride light rail, pay fare at the ticket machine before boarding and keep the ticket for the whole trip. The one way light rail ticket is valid for 2 hours throughout the system (no need to get another ticket when transferring between light rail).

Proof of eligibility is required for senior and disabled fares.

On September 1, 2009, Sacramento RT has eliminated Central City and "The Neighborhood Ride" fares.

Prepaid tickets and passes

Passes for seniors and youth come in a form of stickers. Stickers must be affixed to a photo ID issued by Sacramento RT to be valid.

Seniors 75 years or older can purchase Super Senior Monthly sticker for $40.00.

Yolo Express Sticker is available for $25.00 (use with monthly or semi-monthly pass), which provide access to Yolobus.
