About the route
The Sac - SLT Route is a publicly sponsored intercity bus operated by El Dorado Transit, connecting Sacramento and South Lake Tahoe via US-50. It serves a corridor that hasn't had privately run intercity bus service since the early 2000s, as well as transporting non-train connecting riders who were previously restricted on the dedicated Amtrak Thruway service. The bus offers Amtrak Thruway connections to Capitol Corridor and Gold Runner trains. Fares range from $20 to $34 one way for non-rail connecting riders.
