About the route
GTrans Route 1X operates between Redondo Beach Metro Rail Station and Harbor Freeway Station, traveling along Marine Ave, Western, 166th St, and Vermont, and serving Downtown Gardena. Riders can transfer to the LA Metro's J Line for trips to and from Downtown Los Angeles at Harbor Freeway Station. The route once provided service into Downtown Los Angeles via the Harbor Freeway seven days a week, but it was modified to operate in and out of downtown only during weekday peak hours, and eventually, the downtown service was discontinued.
