Hollywood Boulevard is a major east-west road that starts at the intersection with Sunset Boulevard in East Hollywood and continues west to Laurel Canyon Blvd. The road is home to many Hollywood landmarks, including the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The road once carried Pacific Electric trolleys from Downtown LA to Santa Monica and the San Fernando Valley. In June 1999, LA Metro opened the Red Line subway service under Hollywood Blvd from Vermont to Vine, and it extended to Highland and the San Fernando Valley a year later. In 2024, protected bike lanes were installed on Hollywood Blvd east of Gower Street.
