Sunset Boulevard is a major east-west road spanning Downtown Los Angeles, near Dodger Stadium, to Pacific Palisades. It passes through neighborhoods like Echo Park, Silver Lake, Hollywood, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Brentwood, and Pacific Palisades, which was severely damaged by the January 2025 fire. Much of the alignment outside Hollywood runs along the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains. Commercial spaces line the road in Echo Park, Hollywood, West Hollywood, and part of Pacific Palisades. The rest of the alignment is residential, particularly through Beverly Hills and Bel Air. East of the junction with Hollywood Blvd, the road had Pacific Electric tracks providing passenger rail service from Downtown LA to Santa Monica and the San Fernando Valley.
