Loyola Station, served by the Red Line, originally opened in 1908 as a ground-level station named Hayes. The name was changed to Loyola in 1910. It was elevated in the 1910s as part of a track elevation project, with a new station opening in 1921. The station was renovated in the early 1980s with a new platform, escalators, and an elevator.

CTA 'L'

The station entrance is located at the southwest corner of Sheridan Road & Loyola Ave. CTA ticket machines are available at the ground level station house, selling reloadable Ventra card, single-ride, or 1 day ticket. All riders must pass through the turnstile with a valid Ventra card, ticket, contactless bank card, or mobile device with Apple/Samsung/Android Pay. The station features an elevator connecting the entrance's paid area to the platforms.

This elevated station has a center platform divided into two sections to serve northbound and southbound trains due to the platform's reduced width. Southbound trains stop at the north section, while northbound trains stop at the south section. Riders switching directions must go down to the ground level and return to the opposite side. The elevator has door on both sides to serve both sections.
