Valley Metro Rail
Valley Metro Rail is a light rail system in the Phoenix area. It serves parts of Phoenix, Tempe, and Mesa. Valley Metro Rail is operated by Valley Metro and charges the same fares as Valley Metro buses, but ticket must be purchased at the station prior to boarding.
During daytime, trains generally run every 12 minutes on weekdays, every 15 minutes on Saturdays, and every 20 minutes on Sundays. Trains run every 20 minutes at night until approximately midnight (Sunday through Thursday nights) and 3:00am (Friday and Saturday nights).

Riding light rail
Before you board the light rail, you need to buy a ticket or pass from a Valley Metro Rail ticket machine (located at every station). Valley Metro Rail is a proof of payment system. Riders must have a valid or pass while onboard the train.
On the platform, board the train that goes to your station.
Bicycles
Bicycles can be taken aboard the train at all hours on all cars with no additional fare. To ride with a bike:
- Board the train through the two center doors (with a bike decal)
- Go to the center section (joint) of the light rail car
- Lift your bike vertically into the rack
Bicyclists can stand by the doors at the center portion of the car and hold on to their bikes.
Selected stations offers bicycle racks and lockers.
Disabled access
All stations provide complete level boarding. Elevator access is available at all elevated stations. Wheelchair placement area is available on each car between the 1st and 2nd, and between 3rd and 4th door.
