Metro Rapid is a series of limited stop bus routes operated by LA Metro to provide faster service along key transit corridors. Metro Rapid routes have limited stops (every 1/2 mile or longer), operate frequently (so passengers can expect a bus without waiting too long), and have signal priority. Metro Rapid generally uses distinctive red buses.

Metro Rapid is a low end form of Bus Rapid Transit. Metro Rapid operates on city streets in mixed traffic and all passengers pay the fare onboard.

Metro Rapid: Santa Monica - Downtown LA via Wilshire
Metro Rapid: Athens - Hollywood via Vermont Ave
