About the route

Metro Rapid route 761 provides limited stop, north-south service across San Fernando Valley, from Sylmar to Sherman Oaks, along San Fernando Road (between Sylmar Station and Van Nuys Blvd) and Van Nuys Boulevard (between San Fernando Rd and Ventura Blvd). It then travels over the Sepulveda Pass to UCLA and Westwood via Sepulveda Boulevard (between Ventura Blvd and Sunset Blvd).

Metro Bus 233 provides local service on the northern part of the route and provides late night and overnight service to and from West LA when Route 761 is not in service.

Two rail projects are being planned that could replace the bus service on the 761 corridor. The first is East San Fernando Valley Light Rail Transit Project. Second is Sepulveda Transit Corridor Project.
