Metro Rail L Line (formerly Gold Line) is a light rail line from Azusa to East Los Angeles via Pasadena and Union Station.

Gold line trains run every 7 minutes during weekday peak hours, every 12 minutes midday, and every 20 minutes from about 8pm to after midnight. Weekend daytime service runs about every 12 minutes. Service is extended to about 2am on Friday and Saturday nights.

Union Station is the transfer point for Metro Rail B D lines along with Metrolink and Amtrak. This line uses proof of payment fare system, but some undergound stations along the line have faregates.
