Schedules and fares

On weekdays, Caltrain provides train service from this station to San Francisco. During the afternoon peak hours, 3 southbound trains continue to Gilroy.

Caltrain service at this station is limited, especially during the off-peak times.

Paying the fare

This station is in fare zone 4.

Purchase Caltrain tickets from ticket machines in the concourse below the Caltrain platforms.

10-ride ticket validators are also located in the concourse next to the ticket machines.

Boarding the train

Trains may depart on any track, verify with conductor for departure time and destination.

Weekend shuttle

There's no weekend/holiday train service at this station. Tamien-San Jose Shuttle provides connection between this station and San Jose Diridon Station.

The shuttle stops on the east side of the station, in front of the Caltrain station concourse.

A valid Caltrain ticket is required to board the shuttle bus.

Alternate service to San Jose Diridon Station

All Caltrain trains serve the nearby San Jose Diridon Station. At times when there's a large gap in service (a hour or more between trains), it may be quicker to take light rail to San Jose Diridon Station and take Caltrain from there.

A separate ticket is required for light rail.

VTA Light Rail

B Blue Line line operates every 15 minutes daily until about 7:30pm, then every 30 minutes until 1:00am.

Paying the fare

Ticket machines are located near the bottom of escalators and stairs leading to the light rail platforms.

Boarding the trains
