About the route
Diesel locomotive-hauled trains provide service during weekday peak hours between Gilroy and San Jose, as this rail segment is owned by Union Pacific and is not electrified. At San Jose Diridon, transfers are timed with electric trains operating north of San Jose.
Northbound trains to SF can wait 2 to 5 minutes for connecting trains. Transfers to later trains are available for longer delays. Southbound trains to Gilroy will wait when possible. The last train to Gilroy will hold as late as needed.
