About the route
Rapid Route 235 provides all-day express service between Escondido and Downtown San Diego via I-15 Express Lanes. It serves park-and-ride stops using direct access ramps from the Express Lanes. In the Kearny Mesa area, the bus exits the freeway to serve street stops, then returns to the freeway. Closer to downtown, it serves on-freeway stops at El Cajon Blvd and University Ave. In downtown, the bus runs on Broadway and serves street stops. The route was launched in June 2014 as part of the project to construct Express Lanes on I-15, along with transit facilities along the freeway.
