Historic streetcar is a form of rail transit that use actual historic vehicles or historic replicas were common in most US cities before the 1950s when they were largely replaced by buses.
Some of the historic streetcar systems provide actual urban transit functions. These lines operate frequently everyday, while other historic streetcar lines may be operated as a rail museum or volunteer operation that provide service on a limited basis.
Some of cities that have historic streetcar lines may also operate modern streetcars and/or light rail.
Characteristics:
- Due to historic nature, historic streetcar lines may not be wheelchair accessible.
