Train - Amtrak Pacific Surfliner

Amtrak Pacific Surfliner trains from Los Angeles to Santa Fe Depot Station in Downtown San Diego.

Bus - Greyhound

Greyhound bus from Los Angeles Greyhound to San Diego Greyhound.

  • About 16 trips in each direction daily.
  • Indoor terminals
  • San Diego Trolley stop (12th & Imperial Station) is located next to the San Diego Greyhound stop.
  • Fare ranges from less than $20 to $40, depending on fare type and time of booking.
  • Travel time takes around 2.5 to 3.5 hours depending on time of trips and number of scheduled stops.

Train - Metrolink and Coaster

Metrolink trains between Los Angeles Union Station and Oceanside Station. Coaster trains between Oceanside and Santa Fe Depot Station.

  • Check the LOSSAN timetable or trip planner for combined schedule between services.
  • About 1 or 2 trips a day that provide optimum transfer with short layover. Transfer is not guaranteed.
  • Combined fare is about $23. $10 weekend pass on Metrolink is good on any trip.
  • Travel time is just over 2 hours on Metrolink and a little over an hour on Coaster, along with layover time in Oceanside.
