How to take ACE

Before boarding the trains, buy your train ticket from a ticket agent (available during selected times at all stops except Vasco, Santa Clara, and San Jose) or with the ACE Train app. Cash, credit/debit cards, and commute benefit vouchers are accepted at staffed locations.

ACE offers one way, round trip, 10-ride, 20-ride, and monthly tickets. The fare is determined by where the rider boards and exits.

Pre-purchased tickets need to be validated by a validator machine on the platform before boarding.

ACE uses the proof of payment system and passengers caught without a valid ticket or pass are subject to eviction and/or citation.

Bicycle access

ACE trains allow bikes on designated bike cars. Each bike car has stalls for 14 bikes. Bikes can also be taken on non-bike cars where ties-downs are available.

Disabled access

ACE is accessible to people with disabilities at all stations. Mini-high platforms that provide wheelchair access are located on the south end of the platforms (toward San Jose) at most stops. To board trains, conductors will deploy a ramp to bridge the gap between the vehicle and the mini-high platform. Lift is used at stops without the ramp.
