Jackson Station is a subway station under State Street for the Red Line and under Dearborn Street for the Blue Line at Jackson Street. The station has direct pedestrian tunnels connecting the rail platforms to facilitate transfers.

CTA 'L'

The Red Line station entrances are located along State Street between Adams and Van Buren streets. It has two mezzanines, one between Adams-Jackson and another between Jackson-Van Buren. Each mezzanine has elevators connecting the street to mezzanine and from mezzanine to platform. For the Blue Line, station entrances are located along Dearborn Street between Adams and Van Buren streets. It also has two mezzanines, one between Adams-Jackson and another between Jackson-Van Buren, but only Adams-Jackson mezzanine has elevator access from the street to the mezzanine and from mezzanine to the platform.

CTA ticket machines are available in the mezzanines, which sell reloadable Ventra card, single-ride, or 1 day ticket. All riders must pass through the turnstile with a valid Ventra card, ticket, contactless bank card, or mobile device with Apple/Samsung/Android Pay.

This underground station features a center platform for each line. This station is a part downtown subway that features a continuous platform that stretching all the way to Washington Street on the Blue Line and Lake Street on the Red Line.

There's a direct underground walkway (not wheelchair accessible) between the Blue and Red platforms. Riders using elevators transferring between the Blue and Red lines can exit the paid area and use the accessible tunnel (via Adams-Jackson mezzanines) connecting the Blue and Red lines. This is also a transfer point with the elevated Loop lines. To transfer to the Loop trains, exit the station and walk half a block to Harold Washington Library Station. Transfer is free for riders with Ventra card.
